President of the European Commission
Ursula von der Leyen believes that green and digital transformations hold the key to Europe's future prosperity and resilience.

Why you should listen

Before being elected President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen was a minister at the federal level in Germany for more than 14 years, responsible for family, labor and social affairs and later defense. She aims to lead Europe out of the coronavirus crisis, while launching the continent's recovery.

Von der Leyen's vision for a stronger Europe means a better world after the pandemic. She believes that the European Union can be a convening power for the public common goods, like our climate, our environment and finding a vaccine against COVID-19.
