Shahed Alam is the co-founder and co-CEO of Noora Health, a non-profit organization that taps into the powerful role families can play in healthcare. To date, the program has reached nearly two million family caregivers across hundreds of hospitals and clinics in India and Bangladesh, training patients and family members to prevent newborn complications, reduce hospital readmissions and increase healthy behaviors.
Prior to Noora, Alam advocated for improved health care for incarcerated people in the US and built low-cost diagnostic technologies for low- and middle-income health care settings. He is an associate faculty at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a GLG Social Impact Fellow.
