Kate Fagan is the author of What Made Maddy Run and a former professional basketball player.She grew up in Albany, New York, the daughter of a basketball junkie (and former professional player), and has spent a lifetime trying to understand and explain the aggressive disconnect between the value she felt playing the game while growing up and the way society treats its female athletes.
She currently works for Meadowlark Media and lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her wife, Kathryn Budig and their dog.
