The last salon of the academic year had a very specific theme: Intervene and retake the city!
And it lived up to the audience's expectations. As you enter the hall, you're greeted with an installation by Beirut Colors, a young initiative by 3 university students from all over Lebanon seeking to add color to Beirut. Attendees intervened in the logo itself, helping in its creation. Audience members engaged with the installations by either completing the Beirut Colors logo or engaging in a conversation on what's missing in Beirut, all in multi-colored organized chaos.
A young team of organizers worked like a beehive to make sure everything was just the perfect balance. From registration to social space, young ushers prepared everything to perfection, ensuring a great experience for all.
Upon entering the Irwin Auditorium, the experience is taken even further. Audience members were treated to a musical composition prepared by Firas BouZeiniddine, one the LAU students on the crew. The stage itself was an installation, with a huge Led-light installation prepared by Nour Chamoun and Hala Hassan, designed with an urban setting in mind.
Our Theme
So many of us live in urban settings, but how many actually form connections with the city and the various initiatives being held? This event wasn't only for the architects and designers amongst us, but for anyone hoping to make an impact in an urban setting.
The city is ours. Let's make our mark!
