Each year, TED gives out a prize, usually to an individual, to help them bring their 'idea worth spreading' into reality. 2012, however, saw the prize awarded not to a person but to an idea: the 'City 2.0' - in other words, the city of tomorrow.
On Saturday, October 13th, TEDxCity 2.0 events will be held around the world encompassing this theme of, in TED's words, 'a day of urban inspiration'. TEDxWarwick is no exception: we will be hosting our very own TEDxCity 2.0 event in M1 (Radcliffe Building, WBS Teaching Centre) from 3pm - 5pm. Entry is free.
Our line-up of speakers and videos will stimulate the mind and provoke discussion, and encompasses everything from the future of education to radiation-absorbing plants. Places are limited due to the size of the venue (160), so make sure you're there on time!
Head over to the City 2.0 website (http://www.thecity2.org/) to find out more about the theme of our event, and join our Facebook event (https://www.facebook.com/events/396908317043793/) to receive the latest news and announcements regarding our speaker line-up.
