Balaton
x = independently organized TED event

Theme: ' Pushing the envelope '

This event occurred on
June 4, 2010
Siófok
Hungary

Topic of the TEDxBalaton conference was "Pushing the envelope" in different domains of education, business, art, social and glocal issues, such as assisting the handicapped and coping with environmental challenges.

The conference was organized around the above topics, introduced by an original TED Talk and followed by speakers and doers from Hungary and from the US.

The venue was a resort area nearby Lake Balaton, in Siófok. The conference took place in an old bread factory ( http://www.320fok.hu/ ) that had been adapted for it providing a cool and motivating environment for those seeking new ideas.

The aftermath was amazing for speakers and attendees alike. Having seen the success organizers are committed to make TEDxBalaton a series of conferences for spreading new ideas in Hungary and in the region, too.
