The first TEDxFulhamWomen event was held on Saturday December 1st 2012 at Broadway House, a private members club in the heart of Fulham. This was a gathering of women living or working in West London, to watch and discuss the TEDxWomen conference livestream together and share some food and views on women, careers and the world.
The Agenda:
1:30 - Arrive
1:45 - Welcome
2:00 - UK speakers
3:15 - Cream tea and discussion
3:45 - Watch TEDxWomen Conference Livestream session
5:15 - Mulled wine and Close
We had an exciting mix of UK speakers and topics lined up, including Julie Meyer CEO of Ariadne Capital on breaking rules, Sarah Walter Founder and CEO of Style Passport on EQ & IQ, interface designer Julie Kennedy on why design principles count, Sairah Ashmann COO of Wolff Olins on role models, and entrepreneur Barbara Duvoisin on ‘50 is NOT the new 40'.
We then watched the livestream of the TEDxWomen Conference. The session we joined was called “IQ and EQ – the space between our intellectual and emotional intelligence”. The speakers included:
Pat Mitchell – Introduction
John Gerzema – Athena Doctrine – how women (and men who think like them) will rule the future
Charlotte Beers -- women and leadership
Elizabeth Lindsey-dialogue on elders and the legacy of their wisdom
Shabana Basij-Rasikh --- Student, activist & NGO leader who dressed as a boy to get an education in Afghanistan
Brittany Wenger – Google Science Fair Winner on AI computer program to diagnose breast cancer

The event was a terrific success and the organisers were inundated by requests to hold events more often. We are thinking about that! Please follow TEDxFulhamWomen on Twitter or Facebook for updates, and get in touch if you would like to be involved.
