This event came from the idea that the University of Nottingham has a lot to potentially showcase. We've decided to focus particularly on the 'entrepreneurship' and 'sustainability' themes of the university, as signified in our own theme. This still gives us the latitude to focus on a broad selection of talks that can come from any background within the Uni.
________________
Our Aims
We have a couple things we would like to accomplish through this event.
Firstly, we'd like to find interesting research, knowledge and perspectives from within the Uni and have those shared to a potentially wider/different audience through the platform of a TEDx talk.
Secondly, we want the event to be a collaborative effort involving both students and staff from all backgrounds within the Uni. This is in keeping with the the style of a lot of other TEDx's and through this we hope to be able to produce and event that is creative, entertaining and interesting.
Thirdly, we want to create a focal point around which TED-interested students/staff within the University can gather. It can be a place where we share and discuss talks from around the world, and then engage in the conversation and actions taking place within the global TED/TEDx community
