Theme: In the Eye of the Storm: Reflections on Struggle

This event occurred on
June 21, 2025
Ha Noi, Ha Noi
Vietnam

Life is filled with moments that shake our world, challenge our convictions, and test our limits.

Yet, even the fiercest storms cannot last forever, and in the calm at the center, you find yourself. Chaos forces us to turn inward. What comes rushing forth are our fears, doubts and most importantly–the inner resilience to shine through it all.

Life is marked by struggles, yes, but also by transformation. The eyes of chaos reflect ourselves, laying bare our vulnerabilities while daring us to uncover the courage and clarity hidden within.

At TEDxISPH Youth 2025, under the theme ‘In the eye of the storm: Reflections on Struggle’, not only will speakers share how they navigated challenges and rose stronger than before, but also relate to unique ideas and concepts. From internal battles to major upheavals in life to even the smaller, less noticeable struggles–these stories-turned-ideas remind us how ultimately, we are shaped by struggle.

Are you ready to brave the storm?

An Thy Nguyen

Student
I’m a high school junior passionate about philosophy, education, and the way young people make sense of the world. In my upcoming TEDx talk, “Time Trap: Breaking Free from Toxic Productivity,” I explore how the pressure to constantly optimize time fuels guilt, burnout, and fear of falling behind. The talk challenges the belief that rest is wasted time and questions the obsession with finding a fixed life purpose, offering a perspective that values sustainability, flexibility, and self-acceptance.

Ha Anh Tran

Student
Having struggled and compared myself with others, I always kept a motto in mind: “It’s sometimes best to be the worst in the room”. It reminded me that I should strive for excellence within myself, aiming to be one step further than yesterday, rather than comparing who I am in a large group. Being the “worst in the room” doesn’t mean settling for what’s “good enough”; it means expanding my knowledge and expertise, surrounding myself with those ahead of me, learning from their experiences and thus reflecting on my own.

Nguyen Thao Nguyen Ho

Student
Vulnerability and strength does not seem like it would belong in the same sentence right? But let me tell you a secret…, it’s actually the opposite. You may only know strength as “tough” your whole life, but your hidden power actually comes from something else. Be ready to rethink where strength may come from and how it is the key to unlock new doors.

Nhat Nam Le

Writer, Blogger, Public Speaker
Le Nhat Nam is a writer and speaker with a deep interest in culture, self-growth, and the emotional layers of everyday life. His work often explores how we respond to change - especially the quiet, inner battles we rarely talk about. He lives with his guiding belief: “Finding peace in a noisy world”. Through writing, reflection, and lived experience, he shares honest lessons about letting go and overcoming inner storms.

Phuong Thao Pham

Professional MC/Host/Interpreter
I’m Phuong Thao, a senior at Foreign Trade University majoring in International Business, an IELTS instructor, and a bilingual host/ interpreter for various events, including TEDx events. Over the years, I’ve embraced diverse roles - from student leader, teacher, sales officer, master of ceremony and interpreter - each offering a unique perspective on navigating life in an unpredictable world. At TEDxISPH, I’ll be stepping into a new role as a speaker, and I’m thrilled to share my journey and new perspectives with you. Whether you're a student, a professional, or someone curious about the fast-paced world around us, I hope you’ll join me for an engaging and thought-provoking experience.

Tuan Luong Nguyen

Head of Solutions Mapping at the UNDP Vietnam Accelerator Lab
Luong Nguyen, on paper, is an innovation and sustainable development practitioner with over a decade of experience working for government and intergovernmental organisations. IRL, he sees himself more as a systems hacker and hope builder who helps people , and organization, tackle messy world problems: like climate change, digital divide, environmental pollution, and meaningful participation. He had worked with everyone from informal waste workers, government officials, tech entrepreneurs, UN diplomats, and artists to spark change with creativity, dialogue, and tech. He is a firm believer in the power of collective intelligence, facilitation as a form of activism, and games as blueprints for sustainable futures. Offstage, he’s either deep in a Wikipedia rabbit hole, playing video games with way too many text to read or having a love/hate relation with going to the gym.
