Whether exploding watermelons with her own sons, or becoming a gestational surrogate for the children of a friend, her life has been guided by curiosity and a love of exploration which she enjoys fostering in others.

Clara, a sophomore at ASB, is no stranger to the stage. She has been a frequent participant in the public speaking and dramatic acting opportunities through NESDA and the HS Scene acting. When she's not wowing crowds with her thespian prowess--or pondering life's dark mysteries--she enjoys making short films and playing Minecraft with her sister.

Edu is a 19 year old passionate ASB alumnus from Barcelona . He is constantly seeking ways to put himself out of his comfort zone while also attempting to help people reach their full potential and become through a fun and positive mindeset to better communicators in any field of work.
Halía Simon
Student
Halía is a junior at the American School of Barcelona. She moved to Barcelona three years ago from western Canada where she lived in the small town of Lions Bay. Contrasting her rural life in Canada with big city life in Spain has helped create in her a desire to answer pressing environmental questions.
Lucas Srba Cabeza

Lucas is a junior student-athlete at ASB. Though born in London to Spanish and American parents, he feels most at home in Barcelona where he grew up. A city that has given him the ideal backdrop to nurture his profound interest in the confluence of society, art, and science. Community involvement, working towards climate solutions, and fine art photography all hold places of deep importance to Lucas.

As someone in love with the art of debate, Luna, a sophomore at ASB, loves talking. Having lived in five different countries, she has been exposed to differences in culture and how they can impact conversation. Whether she's talking about pop culture or politics with her friends--or applying her debate skills in conversations with her parents--Luna never shuts up!
Miguel Angel Arguelles
English Language & Literature Teacher
Miguel was born in poverty in Cuba before escaping to the land of plenty and growing up in Miami, where he worked for over a decade, before moving in 2022 to his dream city--Barcelona--where he now works as an IB English Literature & Language teacher at ASB. He loves to make use of figurative language--but what else would you expect from a literature teacher?!
Siyu Wen

An "idea guy" with eclectic interests in prose, engineering and music, Siyu, a junior at ASB, is no stranger to pondering the vast and complex world around him while looking for answers to life's big questions. For the past seven years, Barcelona has been his lab, library and concert hall--helping him cook up his "mad scientist" theories and solutions.
Yumeng (Joy) Fan

Born in Shanghai, Joy joined ASB in fifth grade and recently spent a year at a boarding school in Switzerland. She has a wide range of interests, including ballroom dancing, tennis, music, philosophy, and physics. Having traveled extensively with her family and lived in various countries, she is well-acquainted with feelings of nostalgia.
