This independently organized TEDx event will be a confluence of artistry, green technology, architecture, science and ecology. We are inviting experts in these areas to talk about their work and how it is helping to create a more sustainable future. The theme for this evening’s series of presentations, broadly defined, is as follows:

Catalyzing a civilization which flourishes in symbiosis with the living systems of the planet by offering practical strategies for addressing the cumulative effects of human pressures upon the environment. Speakers will be addressing this topic from the stand point of their expertise and interest through one or more of the following questions:

· Can a sustainable and regenerative society emerge through entrepreneurial means within the prevailing business logic?

· Can innovations in technology & design offerquickly implementable solutions for alleviating or reversing the looming ecological crises of a fossil fuel age?

· How will imminent changes at the interface ofecology and economics affect the dynamic web of cultural relationships throughout our increasingly networked civilization?

Addressing the scale and scope of these issues at local, regional and global levels requires strategies which provide for more than just the sustenance of our civil, public and private institutions. Their effectiveness in the long term to the adaptive challenges facing us will be measured in how successfully those strategies implement regenerative principles in both design and practice. For the sustainability of any system rests upon its ability to replenish itself, and thus endure.
