In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

He believes that despite the numerous tweaks and improvements made to our education system in recent decades, even the best schools fail to fully address children’s needs. Michel argues that we need a profound shift in priorities. These include ensuring that children’s love for learning remains intact after they start school and providing them with the tools they need to be not only academically and financially successful but also happy individuals. Additionally, fostering a strong connection to nature in children could highly motivate them to solve the environmental crisis.

旅居台湾十年，吸收了当地文化养分，外表和语言与当地人无异，内心深知自己并不属于这里。回到马来西亚后，她发现自己与故乡格格不入，遂开始探索身份的旅程。 她在台湾以花草、植物和石头为创作媒介，呈现身份的多样性。回到马来西亚，她发现外来文化元素已成为当地民族身份的象征，如：马六甲峇峇娘惹瓷砖、砂拉越原住民琉璃珠子等。 通过这些观察，她体悟到文化的流动性与身份的多重可能性。她的创作在静止与流动之间，呈现了精湛技艺和创意思维。 After living in Taiwan for a decade, artist Raito has assimilated into the local culture. In Taiwan, she used flowers, plants and stones as creative media to express the diversity of identity. In Malaysia, she noticed that foreign cultural elements had become symbols of local ethnic identities, such as the Baba Nyonya tiles of Malacca and the glass beads of Sarawak's indigenous people. These observations led her to realize the fluid nature of culture and the many possibilities of identity. Her creations showcase a blend of refined craftsmanship and innovative thinking, balancing stillness and movement.

包益民 Imin Pao

亚洲知名创意设计师 Creative director

包益民毕业于全球顶尖设计学院——罗德岛设计学院 (RISD) 及加州艺术 中心设计学院 (ArtCenter) ，获图像设计学士学位与广告硕士学位。他被国际广告杂志 《Archive》 评选为全球第七名的艺术总监，也被国际著名 杂志 《Wallpaper》 评选为 33 个亚洲最重要的创意人之一。他也因此拥有 “华人创意教父” 之称。 包益民曾与多个国际知名品牌合作，他的作品也获得多个世界大奖肯定，包括美国传达艺术年度设计及广告奖及时报广告金奖。他活跃于品牌咨询、产品创意与授权等领域。他说，这世界上不缺人教方法，但拥有思考能力更重要。 Imin Pao has been recognised by international magazines such as Archive and Wallpaper as one of Asia’s most important creative figures. He graduated from the world-class Rhode Island School of Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Graphic Design and also earned a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) Advertising from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena. He is known as the “godfather of Chinese creativity“. Having collaborated with many prominent brands and received awards such as the China Times Advertising Award for his work, Imin continues to be active in brand consultancy and licensing. According to him, there is no lack of teaching methods to be used, but it is more important for us to learn how to think.

叶孝忠 Yap Seow Choong

新加坡旅游作家 Singaporean travel writer

叶孝忠毕业于香港中文大学硕士，曾担任《孤独星球》旅行指南出版人，在其领导下，书籍曾获得不少奖项。 他也在中国、台湾和新加坡出版过超过 10 本旅游文学作品，目前是《联合早报》、《光明日报》专栏作者，也在新加坡国立大学兼任高级讲师。 新书《我给新加坡写了一本马来西亚》，以新加坡人的角度，向新加坡人介绍马来西亚，记录了在马来西亚旅行的精华和美好。他说，设计思维 (Design Thinking) 是一种解决问题的方法，与我们的生活密不可分。 Graduated with a master's degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Yap Seow Choong once served as the publisher of the Lonely Planet guidebook. Under his leadership, the books have won many awards. He has also published more than 10 travel literature works in China, Taiwan, and Singapore, and is currently a columnist for Lianhe Zaobao and Guangming Daily. His latest book introduces Malaysia to Singaporeans from the perspective of a Singaporean and records the essence and beauty of traveling in Malaysia. Seow Choong said that design thinking is a way to solve problems, which is inseparable from our lives. He mentioned that whilst he is a publisher, he holds multiple roles and needs to use design thinking to solve various challenges in life.

叶静综 Yap Jing Zong

叶静综毕业于拉曼理工大学电子机械工程系。去年，他在拉曼理工大学荣获 iSpark 创意理念大赛冠军。 2024 年，他与同伴在泰国素罗娜丽科技大学赢得永续发展初创企业路演大赛亚军。 大马的食物垃圾问题严重，不仅浪费，还会造成环境污染的问题。2023 年叶静综开始创业，积极投入回收厨余转化为肥料。目前，他的公司负责处理吉隆坡中央医院的厨余。 现在，他用自己的知识为农业发展做贡献。他认为要让环保和经济挂钩，才能让环保快速发展起来。 Yap Jing Zong is a green energy entrepreneur. A graduate in mechanical engineering from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), he was also the winner of the 2023 TAR UMT iSpark Idea and Prototype Competition and part of the runner-up team in the 2024 Suranaree University of Technology Sustainability Startup Competition. The problem of food waste in Malaysia is particularly serious because it leads to environmental pollution. To combat this, Jing Zong started a business in 2023 to recycle food waste by turning it into fertilizer. Today, he uses his knowledge to contribute towards agricultural development. He believes that we can only begin saving the planet when environmentalism matches our economic concerns.

2016 年，朱凯伊创办了城市教育农场 Pop & Chee Healthy Home Farm，致力于推广再生土壤和自家种植的知识和技能。她积极响应可持续发展目标，于 2017 年创办了 Grow Community Market，以促进当地农业发展。 她与泰裔丈夫在城市中改造出一方家庭菜园，培育的各种草药菜茶皆茂盛，其中甚至还有来自国外的品种。本地与外国的草茶在小小的一方城市土地中相映成趣。 朱凯伊同时在家中开起茶坊。她希望这一方小小净土，让大家感受忙碌生活之外的另一种宁静生活。 In 2016, Chee Hoyyee set up the urban Pop & Chee Healthy Home Farm as a means of spreading knowledge about soil regeneration and homegrown produce. In an active response to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, she also founded Grow Community Market in 2017 to promote local agriculture. Along with her husband, she planted herbs and teas in a family vegetable garden in the city, which all grew well – even the plants brought from abroad, since local and foreign herbal teas complement each other well in small urban areas like these. Chee has also begun selling teas and coffees via a tea shop opened from her home. She hopes that this small piece of undisturbed land can bring a small portion of peace into the hustle and bustle of our busy lives.

林荻皓 Lim Tik Hau

Haus Studio主持设计师 Founder & designer of Haus Studio

建筑设计师林荻皓从高中时期参与慈济慈善工作起，便常自问：“我们能为这些人或环境做些什么？”这种思考在他大学课业和社区建设实践中逐渐深化并使他坚信，改善大环境需要行动力和创造力。 在 30 岁之前，他创立了 Haus Studio 建筑事务所，发起了海脚屋民宿和海脚食堂，并支持了数家教育与公益空间的建设。 疫 情 带 来 的 挑 战 使 他 健 康 亮 起 红 灯，甚至再次短暂中风。通过自然疗法和禅修，他逐步恢复，如今更专注于慢生活与慢工作的理念。 Architect Tik Hau has often asked himself: "What can we do for these people or the environment?" Since participating in Tzu Chi charity work, this kind of thinking gradually deepened in his university studies and community construction practice, convincing him that improving the environment requires real action and creativity, not mere talk. Before turning 30, he founded the Haus Studio architecture firm, launched Haikaa and the Haikaa Canteen, and supported the construction of several educational and public welfare spaces. The challenges brought about by the pandemic put his health at risk and even suffered another brief stroke. Through natural therapies and meditation, he gradually recovered and now focuses more on the concepts of slow living and slow work.

梁沥传 Edmond Leong

街头摄影师 Street photographer

His works have been featured internationally in Italy, Poland and Scotland; he has also held photography workshops under Zontiga where he works. In 2023, he published his first Zine, Kilat. Edmond has a particular affection towards Pasar Karat, a popular bazaar located at the very heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown at Petaling Street, as this was where he spent his youth honing his craft in photography. He wishes to destigmatize the stereotypes of Pasar Karat by telling the unique characters that made up this now defunct Chinatown bazaar. At the tender age of 21, he has accomplished much — his colourful and vibrant personality contrasts starkly with his black and white photographs.

潘俊生 Jeand Pua

FrameMotion's projects span the globe, covering areas such as art exhibitions and world expos. In 2022, FrameMotion created the design for the Qatar and Kuwait pavilions at the Dubai Expo, showcasing a high level of standard and demonstrating the strength of Malaysian creative teams to the world. In 2023, their curated “Great Artists AI Experience Exhibition” received enthusiastic responses, allowing audiences to immerse themselves in Van Gogh’s parallel world and rediscover Van Gogh a century later.

王筱珺 Dalphine Ong

王筱珺毕业于马来亚大学博士班，专于研究青年发展和社会企业，目前是双威大学和英国 MBA 兼职讲师。宽裕的家庭让她从小就意识到贫富差距。在事业高峰时，她关注到了面对经济困难的弱势群体。 在 2021 年担任食品援助基金会 (食物银行) 行政总裁期间，因一场水灾而坚定了她想要为弱势群体发声的心。全球仍有许多特殊儿童无法像普通孩子一样成长。她相信，爱能将这些星星与星火相连，而这份爱正是她所追寻的方向。 Dr. Dalphine Ong graduated from UM with a doctorate in sustainable enterprise and youth development. She also lectures at the Sunway Business School and the MBA programme at University of Strathclyde's Malaysia campus. Since childhood she had been aware of the gap between rich and poor through wealthy families like hers, and at the peak of her career she turned her attention to the financially disadvantaged. The disastrous floods of 2021, while she was serving as chief executive of the Food Aid Foundation, strengthened her resolve to be a voice for the vulnerable. Instead of being pioneers or lighting the way for grand projects, she hopes we can act as the sparks that ignite a prairie fire in society.

莊立康 Eric Ch'ng

莊立康拥有香港教育大学艺术行政管理的硕士学位，推广文化艺术已有二十余年。现任吉隆坡东方人文艺术馆执行总监、邦咯海岛节联合创办人兼总监。 2013 年，他与岛民企业家陈天军先生联合创办了 “邦咯海岛节”，希望通过 文化艺术的手法，唤醒岛民对于这片土地的记忆，并吸引年轻人回流聚。 后来，他又将世界岛屿文化引入邦咯岛，再将本土文化传播出去。此举不仅刺激了当地的文化与旅游业，更展现了邦咯岛独特的人情味。而邦咯海岛节也在开创十年后，荣获了 2024 年度亚洲本土传统艺术节奖。 Eric Ch’ng has a master’s degree in arts administration from the Education University of Hong Kong. As the Executive Director of the INXO Culture and Arts Foundation and the Oriental Art and Cultural Association, he has been promoting local culture and art for the past twenty years. In 2013, Eric co-founded and directed the Pangkor Island Festival, hoping to revive our cultural memories of Pangkor Island through art and attract young people back to the island to reunite with their loved ones. He has continued to introduce foreign culture to Pangkor as well as disseminating its local customs and traditions. 10 years after its inception, IFEA Asia declared the Pangkor Island Festival the Asia Local and Traditional Art Festival of 2024.

萧婉思 Siew Yun Ysi

翻转哲学教室创办人 Founder of “flipped philosophy classroom” concept

萧婉思毕业于英国剑桥大学生物人类学系，曾任台湾中央研究院历史语言研究所博士后研究员。源于高中时接触到的《苏菲的世界》。在哲学课堂上，她循循善诱，致力于引导学生自主思考甚至反向思考，颠覆了传统。 课堂上“老师讲学生听”的刻板模式。她的哲学理论体系中，不仅有传统的成人哲学概念，也有新颖冷门的儿童哲学概念。萧婉思这套针对全年龄段的哲学理论体系，体现了她在哲学学术界兼具专业性与人文主义性。 Dr. Siew Yun Ysi graduated from Cambridge University with a PhD in Physical and Biological Anthropology. She came up with the concept of the “flipped philosophy classroom” after reading Sophie’s World as a high school student. Her philosophy classes are captivating and devoted to guiding students to think independently - a kind of “reverse thinking” - which subverts the traditional classroom expectation of students listening to teachers talking. Her body of philosophical concepts goes beyond traditional adult-oriented theories in the discipline to incorporate the novel and less well-known philosophy for children. Dr Siew has proposed a theoretical system in which philosophy can be aimed at both children and adults, embodying the professionalism and humanism sought out in modern philosophy.

许景泰 Jerry Hsu

饮食文化工作者赵奕川，曾在大学教授行销管理学。他在 2019 年担任了电视美食节目的内容统筹，参与了多档电视美食节目的制作。 2022 年，他创办了 Niàng Republic 线上美食生活杂货店，透过传统与创新，为产品创造更高的价值。两年后，他在怡保旧街场开设了 Niàng Republic 实体店，继续致力于推广和传承马来西亚丰富的饮食文化。 Jason Teo is a gastronome and the founder of Niàng Republic, a gourmet lifestyle shop that develops locally-inspired foods and products. He also used to teach marketing management at a university. Jason also served as the content coordinator for the "Full Time Living" food and lifestyle program in 2019 and has participated in the production of more than 10 TV food programs. In 2022, he founded Niàng Republic online grocery store, creating higher value for products through both tradition and innovation. Two years later, he opened a physical store of Niàng Republic in Ipoh Old Town, continuing to promote and inherit Malaysia's vibrant food culture.

During 2023, in a concert done in memory of Wong Ka Kui, seven like-minded musicians gathered to continue the band's glory. They come from different backgrounds but have the same dreams and goals. They met because of music, and together they played the melody of love and dreams. The Aura Wings upholds the spirit of rock and roll, uses music to awaken the passion and power deep in people's hearts, fills every note with warmth and hope, and accompanies listeners on every journey of life.
