In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dr. Dipankar Saharia

Dr. Dipankar Saharia is Senior Director at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi and leads TERI’s Social Transformation and Strategic Alliance Programme, which includes Social Transformation and CSR Division, Environment Education and Awareness Division, Knowledge Resource Centres and a few other research Divisions and also heads TERI's Administrative Services Division and Regional Centres. He is a Director in the Board of ONGC TERI Biotech Ltd (OTBL). He was as an officer of the Assam Civil Services, holding various positions from 1997 to 2009, including Assistant Commissioner and Officer on Special Duty at the Personnel Department and Science Technology Department and was also on deputation to TERI. Earlier he worked with TERI from 1995 to 1996 for the Tissue Culture Pilot Project (now MTP) before joining Assam Civil Service. Lovleen Misra is an actor, story teller and writer. As an actor, she is best known for her role as Chhutki in India’s first soap opera Hum Log, but her acting sweep extends across films, radio plays and theatre. She has worked under stalwarts such as Habib Tanvir,Naseeruddin Shah, Sunil Shanbag, Purva Naresh, Lillete Dube, Mohit Takalkar among others in theatre and under directors such as Govind Nihalani,Mani Ratnam,Zoya Akhtar,Anurag Kashyap, Mahesh Narayan, Payal Kapadia among others in films. Her work on the web has been largely on the TVF channel as also Amazon Prime, Netflix and Youtube. Her uncommon bilinguality—she is equally fluent in Hindi and English—make her a much sought-after story teller and drama coach for children. Over the last 30 years, she has done workshops for children all over India—notably, at the Bookaroo Children's Book Fest, the Chandigarh Children's Litt Fest, Kitaabo Jodhpur Children's LIterature Fest and Prithvi Summertime Theatre.
