Anna Haas
Sales Manager
Anna Haas holds an M.Sc. in mineral resources engineering from RWTH Aachen University. She brings cross-industry experience from startups to corporates, having lived in 5 countries and now calling Switzerland home. Anna has worked in the Swiss machine building industry and a German VC-backed ConTech startup. Currently, she is a Sales Manager at Neustark, an ETH Zürich spin-off enabling carbon storage in mineral waste streams. Passionate about innovations for a better world, she’ll share insights on her work with carbon.
Claude Garcia
Professor, Senior Scientist
Claude A. Garcia is a professor of International Forest Management at the University of Applied Sciences in Bern and a senior scientist at ETH Zurich. With a background in tropical ecology and forestry, Claude excels in transdisciplinary methods and landscape modeling. He is renowned for designing strategy games that enhance individual and collective decision-making, a topic he presented in his TEDx Zurich 2018 talk, "Wicked Games” – which focused on using games to solve environmental conflicts.
He is the founder and CEO of LEAF Inspiring Change, a spin-off dedicated to helping decision-makers navigate uncertainty by promoting the use of and facilitation of games in business operations. Additionally, Claude serves as the president of Planet C Collective, an NGO focused on catalyzing social change. He has 20 years of experience working in the tropics and has led transdisciplinary research projects in the Congo Basin, South and South East Asia, and Latin America.
Elisabeth Stern
Environmental Activist
Elisabeth Stern has a PhD in cultural anthropology and - after becoming acutely aware of the climate crisis during an extended field research in Zimbabwe – she has been active in the environmental movement for the last 35 years. She lived in California for five years, where she was an active member of the peace and environmental movement.
For several years now, Elisabeth Stern has been on the Board of KlimaSeniorinnen Switzerland, an association founded in 2016 that took the Swiss Government to court for its inadequate climate policy. They won their case at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg this April 9, 2024, Elisabeth lives near Zurich.
Magda Posani
Postdoctoral Researcher and Lecturer
Dr. Magda Posani holds an MSc degree in Architectural Engineering and Architecture from the University of Bologna in Italy, and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Porto in Portugal. She is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Lecturer at ETH Zurich, within the Sustainable Construction Group. Her research lies at the interface between hygrothermal building physics, material science, and heritage conservation.
