This year's theme is "Unveiling the Invisible Struggle: Mental Health's Ripple Effect on Adolescents, Families, and Communities". This event will explore mental health as one of our biggest challenges today - the lingering mental health effects of the pandemic including loneliness, the fraught anxiety inducing college process, and the pressure of school, jobs, and daily life. They hope to foster a deeper understanding and empathy for others’ mental health in our own community.
Sponsored by the Larchmont Mamaroneck Community Counseling Center, TEDx Mamaroneck will host visionary leaders and mental health experts to shed light on these existential issues and brainstorm ways to be better address them. NBC Anchor Kate Snow will be the moderator and Betsy Kelly Parker, CEO of mental health non-profit, Sunny, Dr. Alec Miller, Founder of Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants (CBC) and professor at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Caren Osten positive psychology coach and The New York Times contributor, MHS students, and other subject matter experts will be speaking at this inspiring event.
We hope to see you there! Tickets can be purchased for $20 to support community mental health resources or reserved for free if you are a student or teacher. There will also be live Spanish translation and a bilingual speaker for those who speak Spanish.
