In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anna Hartwell

President and CEO of Hartwell Financial Group
With a determination stemming from the belief that achieving wealth is well within reach for everyone given the right mindset and knowledge, Anna Hartwell is a powerful advocate for financial education. In her talk, she will explore the profound link between mindset, beliefs, and financial decisions. She will reveal her journey, including how she managed to break free from financial constraints. Anna Hartwell is the President and CEO of Hartwell Financial Group, an independent partner of Excelsior Wealth Partners. She brings over a decade of experience as a financial advisor focusing on retirement and risk management solutions for small businesses, individuals, and families. Beyond professional pursuits, Anna enjoys travel, hiking, pickleball, and actively engaging with her community.

Duncan Lascelles

Professor of Veterinary Medicine
Dr. Lascelles is the Dr. J. McNeely and Lynne K. DuBose Distinguished Professor of Musculoskeletal Health, and Professor of Translational Pain Research at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. His research program (Translational Research in Pain [TRiP]) develops methods to measure pain associated with spontaneous disease in animals, and seeks to understand the underlying neurobiology. His work improves pain control in companion animals, and facilitates analgesic development in human medicine through proof of concept studies in companion animals, and discovery of relevant pain signaling mechanisms.

Kay De Simone

Clinical Psychotherapist
Kay De Simone, LCSW, is a clinical psychotherapist certified in gold-standard modalities for the treatment of PTSD, trauma, and loss. She is a Doctoral clinical candidate at the University of Alabama and a therapeutic expert in the treatment of complex trauma and the stressors of high achievers in high-pressure environments. Her mission is to provide training, skills, and guidance that support individuals and institutions in overcoming obstacles to self-awareness, and appropriate access to therapeutic treatment. Kay will share valuable insights on wellness, healing, personal growth, and legacy building. Kay's sense of humor, life story, and scholarly acumen make for a winning combination when discussing complex and personal topics. Kay splits her time between NC and NY and provides Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Intensives in her offices in Cary, NC, and Manhattan, NY. Kay loves her family, traveling, art, and sneakers.

Marcey Rader believes in health-powered productivity. She's a multi-certified and multi-award-winning health and productivity speaker, coach and consultant, a digital wellness practitioner, a three-time author, and has spoken on five continents. She's also the founder of RaderCo, where she helps executives and their teams banish burnout through practical tools and sustainable habits. Off-stage, Marcey is married to Kevin, a professional drummer and drum teacher. You can find her doing walking meetings at the NCMA or Umstead, drinking iced coffee, or relaxing in her sauna.

Sanskriti Deva

Quantum Engineer + Undergraduate Computer Engineering Student
Sanskriti Deva is an Indian-American quantum engineer and STEM accessibility activist currently studying computer engineering at North Carolina State University. At 17 she made history when she became the youngest elected official on the United Nations (UN) Association National Council on which she still serves, representing Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Puerto Rico. As an emerging leader in quantum engineering, Sanskriti has already made her mark by educating over 10,000+ students from the elementary school to PhD level in quantum computing. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom, leading numerous initiatives to democratize STEM access, all earning her international recognition including a prestigious feature in Times Square and Lifetime Membership with the American Association of Sciences amongst other awards.
