In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anna Annex & Kamalini Ramesh

Students
Anna and Kamalini are students of Class 12 at The Lawrence School, Lovedale. Growing up in the Middle East, amidst diverse traditions and cultures has influenced their identities, helped them develop a unique perspective on global issues. Both of them are avid readers, who love exploring a variety of genres from classic literature to science fiction. Their TEDx talk will explore the significance of understanding diverse perspectives and the role of cultural integration in shaping a more inclusive future. Anna and Kamalini are excited to share their journey and inspire others to embrace the richness of multiculturalism.

Aranyani Bhargav

Bharatanatyam Dancer and Artistic Director.
Aranyani Bhargav, a dancer and soloist, began her training with Padmashri Leela Samson at age 5. She later studied Bharatanatyam and other movement vocabularies in India and the UK. Aranyani completed her masters at the University of Oxford in 2009, where she explored the multiple modernities within Bharatanatyam. In 2013, she founded her dance ensemble, Vyuti, which weaves modernity into tradition. Vyuti's choreographies have received critical acclaim, and she has performed while pregnant, advocating for dancing through pregnancy. Her latest work, 'The Endless Mind', deviates from traditional Bharatanatyam and premiered successfully in India in 2023 and 2024. Aranyani is involved with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and is currently shooting a short film about her journey in dance.

Maneyapanda Ponnanna Karumbaiah

Student
Karumbaiah of class 5, at the Lawrence School, Lovedale, effortlessly balances his love for sports with his thoughtful and introspective nature. A dreamer with an articulate mind, he has the gift of expressing his thoughts in a way that belies his age. With varied interests form academics to skating and football, Karumbaiah is a little philosopher in the making, always curious and reflective. His well mannered and courteous demeanor adds to his charm, making him a delightful presence both in the classroom and on the field.

Raghav Ohlyan

Student
Raghav Ohlyan is a student in the 11th grade at The Lawrence School Lovedale. He loves music, physics, and everything about technology. He is examining the newfound and fundamental role of technology in our lives and how we must approach this change to ensure a better future for humanity with a focus on corporations and their impact on innovation.

Regan Raj

Photographer and Visual Artist
Regan Raj is a Photographer and Visual Artist with over 10 years of experience. He earned a BFA from Madras University in 2009, and a M.Des from Indian Institute of Bombay in 2012. His interests encompass Photography, Films, Sculpture, and Pottery. After completing his formal education, he pursued photography professionally focusing on Commercial Photography and many self initiated projects. Since 2019, Regan has been working as a faculty at The Lawrence School, Lovedale, where he teaches Sculpture, Pottery and Photography.

Reva Malik

Co-Founder - Primalise
Reva’s interest and work involves making sense of sociocultural systems and natural processes. Over the last few years she has focused on understanding the Living-Learning-Livelihood system; and the elegant synergies between the three components. She has worked with organisations that have focused on natural systems, natural learning and individual & collective behaviour. Her endeavour has been to bring to attention the commonly accepted yet unseen structures and processes that dictate the way we live and progress. Decoding natural processes and primal instincts for inspiration has been her focus.

Shukla Bose

Founder-CEO Parikrma Humanity Foundation
Dr Shukla Bose is bridging the growing gap in urban India between those who benefit from economic liberalisation and those who don’t – through Parikrma Humanity Foundation, a non-government organisation founded in 2003. Her professional work spans over 26 years in the hospitality sector and over 20 years in social reform, education advocacy and the social sector.
