The best moments at TEDxRandburg have often come from unexpected places, and this year, we're pushing that to a new level. We staged a global talent search for the 2024 South African Summer to bring together the most remarkable lineup in TEDxRandburg's history. A series of Talks to discover a broad array of thinkers and doers and a selection of them will be invited to Johannesburg to share their work with the world, as part of an extraordinary roster of speakers and performers. He is an AltSchool Africa product management alumni, a certified Microsoft Innovative educator, a certified business and entrepreneurship coach, a YALI (West Africa Regional Leadership Center) alumni, and a 2019 African Young Leadership Fellowship Programme Fellow. He received the 2021 Opportunities Hub 100 Most Influential Young Person Award in Africa. Holding a Master's degree in psychology and neuroscience from King's College London, Matt merges academic insights with a passion for safe and sacred psychedelic use, focusing on broadening understanding and access to these transformative substances. In addition, he consults with medical practitioners, contributing his expertise to further the responsible integration of psychedelics in healthcare.

Nokulunga Maqubela

Nokulunga Maqubela is a 29-year-old growth-hacker dedicated to developing convenient, intelligent solutions that address everyday challenges through technology. Motivated by South Africa's high unemployment rate, Maqubela co-founded Rendar Technologies (Pty) Ltd. The company launched the Rendar mobile app, a platform designed to connect skilled individuals with potential customers, thereby combating unemployment and fostering entrepreneurship. Service providers on the app have autonomy over their rates, working hours, and service radius. Customers can easily request services, similar to using a ride-sharing app. Rendar is a free platform, generating revenue through in-app service transactions. This innovative solution benefits skilled workers seeking income and customers desiring convenient services. In addition to her role as co-founder, Maqubela serves as the CEO of Rendar Technologies.

Page Dina Lotze

Poet
Page Lotze is a dynamic poet, facilitator, writer and coach living between Johannesburg and Cape Town, whose multifaceted career bridges art, technology, community, and personal growth. In 2017, Page wrote for and performed in the theatre production "Hona Le Noka," produced by Hayleigh Evans and Siki Kunene at Pop Art Theatre in Maboneng, Johannesburg, a powerful exploration of the modern South African woman's story through themes of sexual liberation, queerness, oppression, systemic racism, and love. Their poetic journey also includes performances in several renditions of the international franchise production "Naked Girls Reading,", collaborating with renowned musicians, including Mzantsi Jazz Award winner, Tefo Mahola and Urban Village’s Tubatsi Moloi. She has also opened for popular local bands such as Uh Oh! and Ibhunga The Council at venues like The Commons in Muizenberg and The Homecoming Theatre in District 6.

Renee Murphy

Renee Murphy is the Director of Sales at Intrinsyx Environmental and an accomplished environmental scientist specializing in endophyte-assisted phytoremediation.
