Amber Rahim Shamsi
Journalist
Amber Rahim Shamsi is an award-winning multimedia journalist, political commentator, free speech advocate, and media development expert.
She is currently Pakistan editor for a Dubai-based digital media start-up. Before that she was Director, Centre for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ) at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), leading the successful launch of the UNDP-supported fact-checking platform iVerify Pakistan.
She is also an International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP) and an International Centre for Excellence in Journalism (ICFJ) Digital fellow. Ms. Shamsi has participated thrice in the Jinnah Institute's India-Pakistan Track II Chaophraya Dialogue.
She has hosted three news and current affairs shows on mainstream Pakistani news channels, and continues to appear on international and national television channels as a political analyst. She was a bilingual reporter for the BBC World Service, where her work largely focused on human rights.
Dr. Taimur Khan

Dr. Taimur Khan's musical journey began with the guitar in 1990, performing and composing in Rawalpindi and Islamabad until 1996. His fascination with string instruments led him to explore the rabab, sitar, and violin, before discovering the sarangi in 1996, inspired by Ustad Nazim Ali's recording. While studying medicine at The Aga Khan University in Karachi, Dr. Taimur began sarangi lessons in 1997 with Ustad Mubarik Ali. After his guru's passing in 2002, he continued his training with Ustad Mehfooz Khokhar and later with Ustad Allah Rakha, Pakistan's last senior sarangi maestro, until his death in 2015. Dr. Taimur has performed at Radio Pakistan, Lok Virsa, PNCA, Tehzeeb Foundation, APMC, and internationally in Norway. In 2022, he served as the Head of Music at the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA), Karachi.
