TEDxAWARE is a youth organization run by 25 students. In our event hosted by Bodrum Marmara College, we host our speakers who will talk about the topics we are aware of in different fields.

Başak Kişisel

Industrial And Organizational Psychology Specialist

After completing her bachelor's degree in Economics (in English) at Hacettepe University in 2002, Başak Kişisel worked in various positions at a private bank for 17 years. During this period, she graduated from the Edinburgh Business School, Human Resources Management Master's Program (2013). She resigned from her managerial position in 2019 and completed the METU Industrial and Organizational Psychology Master's Program (2021). She is currently continuing her PhD in Psychology at Atlantic International University. She gives lectures, seminars and consultancy in the field of Positive Psychology and Organizational Psychology, and has also developed the Mindary Mental Health application with her teammates in 2023. She also runs the Awareness-Based Stress Reduction Program at Wellbeing Hub, which she founded and fallows the principle of body-mind unity in her work and espouses the Humanistic Psychology school.

Ceren Moghaddam

Education Counsellor, Storyteller

She was born in Istanbul. She graduated from Muğla University Faculty of Education. Theatre, acting, creative drama, museum studies, team work, effective communication, body language, enneagram, educational management and supervision, leadership, persuasion techniques, storytelling and P4C are among the trainings she received. She is a board member of the Turkish Youth and Children's Museums Association. She continues to provide consultancy, formations and workshops to institutions and individuals in many provinces of Turkey, especially in Istanbul.

Dr. Başak Sözer

Dr. in Marine Biology, Teacher

Born in Istanbul in 1983, she always expressed herself by writing and prefers to be on/in/near the water. She spent her childhood at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet children`s choir with joy. In her early youth, she worked as a children's swimming instructor and decided to give the sea a leading role in her life. After completing her bachelor's degrees at Istanbul University Faculty of Aquatic Sciences and Faculty of Science-Biology Department, she completed her PhD in the Department of Marine and Inland Water Biology at the Institute of Science. During her professional career at the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkiye (TUBITAK), she worked as a marine microbiologist in domestic and international projects for 7 years. In 2014, she moved to Bodrum & merged her passion for writing and for her microscope. With the birth of her son, she began her journey of self-discovery. She’s still on the way and likes teaching Biology and writing, translating and editing books.

Durul Bakan

Recycling Artist

Born in 1971, Durul Bakan is an artist who has carried his interest in art since a young age. Growing up in various cities across Anatolia, Bakan discovered his fascination with the enchanting world of nature and art during his childhood. 🌊 Starting to sculpt with pieces of wood collected from the seaside, Durul began to turn his passion into a profession. His works, created solely with natural materials, embody the essence of his art. 🏞️ After stepping into the world of art, Durul moved to Bodrum, where he found inspiration in the breathtaking atmosphere of nature and the sea. Through his sculptures crafted from materials provided by nature, he aims to draw attention to the beauty and conservation of nature. 🔨 Participating in numerous exhibitions throughout his professional career, Durul Bakan is recognized for his artworks, which seek to inspire people and emphasize the importance of nature.

I was born in Istanbul in 1994. We moved to Bodrum when I was 4 months old. Until October 16, 2010, I did many sports and eventually had a very successful career in football. The day I was transferred, I got C4 spinal cord paralysis as a result of a drunk driver hitting me. My neck was broken. I have never lost hope, on the contrary, I have done and continue to do everything I can to give hope to people who have lost theirs. After passing from a lying position to a sitting position, my great awareness challenge began. I started giving interviews by 2013 and was also writing a book. In 2016, my book was published with the title of "I HAVE SEEN THIS LIFE WAY TOO EARLY". My book was deemed worthy of the youngest autobiography writer of the year award by university students. I organized signing days with my book in multiple cities. Also, my second book, "YES YOU ARE", was released in November. Due to my treatment, I live in Kocaeli for six months and Bodrum for the rest of the year.

Zehra İnşallah

INFLUENCER

Zehra INSHALLAH was born in Samsun. Zehra, who studied at OMU Faculty of Theology, started social media in those years. Zehra, who reshaped her life with social media; she continues to inspire people and share her life by producing content on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
