In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Amy Cherian is a junior at Freedom High School. Today, she will be talking about how our world has become a globe of noise and overstimulation, and how the perception of society on those who are silent is negative. She will be emphasizing the toxic noise culture of our world as she explains the scientific and technical effects of silence.

Aphomya Berhe is a senior at Freedom. Aphomya’s speech is an exploration into the consequences of extreme optimism and pessimism in order to find a balanced approach to navigating through life’s challenges.

Palak is a junior at Freedom High School, and this is her second year speaking at this event. Her talk is about the importance of unconventional education and the different benefits it has that people often overlook.

Shriketh is a sophomore at Freedom, and he will be speaking about the importance of evolution and how humans can evolve in their day to day lives.

Sid Vallamsetty is a senior at Freedom. Sid enjoys playing video games, which is why he is speaking about how we perceive these video games and how they can help us tackle our most difficult challenges.
