In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Cherie Luo

Cherie is a podcast host and educational content creator with over 60 million views and 250,000 followers across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube. She’s partnered with brands like Salesforce, Microsoft, Meta, YearUp, Cruise, eBay, Target, and more. Before attending Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, Cherie was a senior product manager at LinkedIn, leading the development of video learning products. While working at Bain Capital Ventures, Cherie pioneered the fund’s outreach and work with creator economy founders and influencers. Audiences and collaborators look to her as a thought leader who bridges the gap between venture capital, creators, startups, and technology.

Devan Sandiford

DEVAN ANDERSON SANDIFORD is a Caribbean American writer, award-winning storyteller, and community activist from Southern California. He is an alumni of the Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation (VONA) and a recipient of the Corporeal Writing Scholarship for Writing Trauma Toward Healing and Joy with Terese Maria Mailhot. His personal stories have been featured in The Washington Post, The Moth Radio Hour and Podcast, Simple Families Podcast, Taking Off the Mask Podcast, and Speak Up Storytelling. He has contributed his opinions on parenting, identity, grief, and personal storytelling for articles in The New York Times and The Washington Post. His writing also appears in the anthologies Bodies of Stories (2022) and Excitement and Talisman (2023). He was a finalist for The Kenyon Review Fellowship for Emerging Writers and has received acclaim from multiple New York Times bestselling authors, including Roxane Gay, who praised him as "an excellent writer who will be endlessly interesting to his readers." Devan lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife and two sons and is working on a book, The Silence We Carry: Confessions of the Six-year-old Father.

Eric Neumann

Eric Neumann is a PhD Student in Psychology at Stanford, where he studies our barriers to trust and meaningful social connection. He is also the co-founder and co-host of the official Stanford Psychology Podcast, where leading psychologists talk about their most recent work and journey into science. Eric claims that we are often too scared to open up to others about our struggles, underestimating how much others would care to hear how we are really doing.

Max Adams

Max has always had a deep love for music, waking up at 4 am during high school to practice cello (much to the dismay of his sleeping family). Max has remained just as committed to music while working in private equity and as he now pursues an MBA at Stanford. Prior to Stanford, Max served as the Assistant Conductor and Board Member of the Temple Hill Symphony, a nonprofit community orchestra based in Oakland. Max is continuing his music education at Stanford, taking classes in conducting and playing cello in the Stanford Philharmonia. Outside of classical music, Max loves setting ambitious goals for himself like seeing every country in the world, reading hundreds of books each year, and supporting animal welfare (all while listening to music, of course!). Some of Max’s favorite musical artists include Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, Shostakovich, Lord Huron, Phoebe Bridgers, and Phillip Glass.

Pinyu Liao

Biomedical Computation Major at Stanford Pinyu Liao is a scientist, blogger, and advocate for proper antibiotic stewardship and global health. Since losing her grandmother to a bacterial infection in 2019, she has worked on several initiatives to make a change in the antibiotic resistance crisis, from advocacy towards proper antibiotic usage with her documentary, “The Quest to Stop Antibiotic Resistance,” which was recognized by the World Health Organization, to researching antibiotic resistance using computational biology. As a first-generation immigrant, she is also passionate about STEM educational outreach through founding the blog, Lavender + Lab Coats, a website dedicated to sharing her journey as an aspiring biomedical scientist.

Suhani Mohan

Suhani is an entrepreneur and investor deeply committed to climate change and health access. She co-founded Saral Designs, a National award winning startup, that impacted 500,000 women across South Asia and Africa, addressing critical hygiene needs with decentralized manufacturing. Suhani led the Environment Fund at ACT Grants, investing in transformative climate-tech solutions. A Materials Science Engineer from IIT Bombay and MBA from Stanford, Suhani is passionate about bridging ancient wisdom and new technology to solve for climate change.

Tran Le

Tran Le is in her final quarter at Stanford where she’s finishing her Master's in Management Science and a Bachelor's in Computer Science. Her upbringing, split between rural Vietnam and the Bay Area, has deeply influenced her perspective on technology and its role in communities. While at Stanford, Tran embarked on various ventures, ranging from non-profits to tech startups. She also conducted research at Stanford Medicine where she built machine learning models to help doctors improve efficiency with patient portal messages and emergency department intake. These experiences have been instrumental in teaching her the nuances of entrepreneurship. In her podcast, Founder’s Campfire, Tran shares both her entrepreneurial stories and those of her peers. Through her TEDx talk, she hopes to foster more discussions on purposeful and people-centric entrepreneurship in the age of AI.

Zach Boyette

Zach Boyette is an entrepreneur and author who spent six years traveling abroad as a digital nomad, living out of his suitcase as he grew his marketing agency, Galactic Fed, into a community with 150 employees across 24 countries.
