Ustad Niaz Hunzai

Hailing from Hunza, the land of mountains, Ustad Niaz Hunzai plays over 18 musical instruments including the flute, Tablas (which are a two-piece percussion set of South Asian drums) and a multitude of stringed instruments including the western guitar… and he plays all to an advanced level of understanding and skill. However, his main instrument is Rubab.
He is entirely self-taught and feels it is a natural “gift from God”. Over the years he has performed all over Pakistan, and abroad. He currently teaches music at the Lahore College of Arts & Sciences (LACAS).
