TEDxMEC stands for the mission of TED - to propagate ideas potent enough to change the mindsets, inspire youth at large and equip them to crave for a better living, beneficial for themselves and the society they dwell. TEDxMEC features toxic talks inspiring people around ranging from veteran performers and social reformers to young innovators. It serves as a stage for promoting fresh thoughts and inspiring innovation. With its inception in 2009, TEDxMEC has presented the first ever independently organised TED event in India.

Deepak Dev

Musician

Deepak Dev is a prominent Indian music composer known for his work in Malayalam cinema. Born in Thalassery, Kerala in 1978, his musical journey began with Carnatic music in Dubai. Later drawn to keyboards, he formed a successful rock band in college and further honed his skills working with renowned music directors. Debuting in 2003 with "Chronic Bachelor," Dev has become known for his unique blend of traditional Carnatic elements with modern beats. He has composed music for over 50 films and garnered critical acclaim, winning two Kerala State Film Awards for his work in "Guru" (2007) and the historical epic "Urumi" (2011).

Born into a family with a rich musical background, he began his journey in 1979, guided by his father. Along with his brother, he has created timeless compositions that have become cultural staples, including classics like "Kallipoonguyile" from Thenmaavin Kombath and "Mayilay Parannu Vaa" from Mayilpeelikkavu. In recognition of their dedication, the duo was awarded the *Kerala State Film Award* and Kaumudi Award for Best Music Director in 1994 for Thenmavin Kombath. With an illustrious career spanning decades, his compositions stand as a timeless testament to the enduring and transformative power of soulful music.

He is a distinguished Indian actor who has graced the silver screen alongside the biggest luminaries in the industry. He has played pivotal roles in hits such as "Varathan"* and *"Bheeshma Parvam". His ability to elevate the narrative and contribute to the success of these films underscores his undeniable acting prowess. In each venture, his performances showcase his versatility and skill in embodying intriguing characters, making him a key player in shaping the world of Malayalam cinema.

He also co-founded RapidValue, a leading digital technology services and solutions firm, and was instrumental in shaping the technology roadmap for multiple Fortune 100 firms, and building an engineering team of 600+ building software on cutting edge technologies and had a successful exit . In addition to RapidValue, Rinish is a serial/parallel entrepreneur, with interests in multiple domains like media and hospitality.
