A palimpsest may be understood as something that possesses multiple layers of meaning that build upon each other. Through the curated TEDx talks by the presenters and the TED talks that we will screen, we seeks to embark on a journey to explore the idea that our sense of identity and aspirations are a result of a myriad of personal and collective experiences. These overlapping narratives are embedded in layers of palimpsests from which we perceive and interpret reality.

Dr. Jeanine Lim (Dr. J, as she is fondly known as), is an educator, filmmaker and changemaker, with 17 years of experience in video and film production and 13 years of teaching in Singapore, U.S.A. and New Zealand. Some of the institutions she has taught at include the University of Auckland, Boston University, National University of Singapore, Singapore Polytechnic, PSB Academy, and School of the Arts, Singapore. She has also held academic support roles at the Singapore Management University. As a filmmaker, she has produced over 40 corporate and educational videos, and 10 short films, which have been screened at several international film festivals. In addition to her own projects, she has also served as production crew on over 25 independent films and television series, and mentored on countless student video projects and films.
