When you do research for the meaning of the word “Fractal”, you may find that it is a term used in science and mathematics which refers to the geometric objects with properties similar to itself. As a TEDxThammasatU, we would like to interpret a fractal as a pattern. Also, providing a space for the audience to think about how to start with a small pattern (small steps) in order to create infinite moves.
We think that there must be three processes that occur:
1.Initiate. Everything needs a start or the starting point, whether it starts with a small step or a big step; they are all counted as a start. The beginning can be compared as a ladder; if we build a solid and strong ladder, it will allow us to develop well and quickly.
2.Repeat. A fractal is a pattern that repeats itself indefinitely. It is similar to what we all do in everyday life or it is called habit. There is a saying that says ‘the thing that we repeatedly do, it will finally become our habit.’ In other words, to change habitual repetition, it is not possible to successfully change in a short period of time. However, it may take time and effort to create change, to get used to it, and to cause the habit.
3.Connect. When initiation and repetition have already happened, in order to have an infinite move, there must be a connection that allows us to see many things from each other's point of view and allows us to have a wider perspective, which will lead to endless changes.
