TEDxYildizTechnicalUniversityWomen event will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10:00 am at Yildiz Technical University Davutpasa Congress and Culture Center!
TEDxYildizTechnicalUniversityWomen event will be with you this year with the theme "TWO STEPS FORWARD". With this theme, we will organize an event where our women, who are leaders in many areas such as business, sports, art, music, education, as well as in all areas of our lives, share their experiences. Within the framework of our theme, which means "Two Steps Forward", we will listen to the stories of women who are pioneers in their fields, who move forward step by step despite the difficulties they face, and who transform not only their own lives but also their environment, and we will see how they are pioneers. We hope that the ideas worth sharing will show 'two steps forward' to all listeners.

Ayça Özefe

Musician

Ayça Özefe was born in Eskişehir on April 4, 2001. She participated in numerous events due to her early love in music. When she was battling the sickness, which she describes as the turning point in her life, she discovered the therapeutic effect of music. On May 19, 2017, she took her first move toward a career in music by posting covers on YouTube. She pursued her education in the Molecular Biology and Genetics English Department at Ankara Başkent University. On April 3, 2020, he released the song "Yıkılmam Asla", whose words and music belong to her, and claimed that this song shed light on a time in her life after her comments on the songs were well received by the public. Ayça Özefe, who is now well-known for her performances in numerous locations and for writing a number of songs, just finished her internship program at the University of Manchester and is continuing her academic studies.

Ayşen Bozkuş

Ayşen Bozkuş was born in 1986 in Istanbul. She is a writer and editor. She also works as a life coach and counselor. After news websites, she worked as an editor and editor-in-chief in various publishing houses in the publishing industry. Since 2017, she has brought many well-equipped writers to the sector with her "creative writing" classes. She also provides awareness trainings and counseling. She has a total of 7 books, two of which are children's books. She was deemed worthy of the "Editor of the Year" and "Story Book of the Year" award with the book "Unutma Beni Çiçeği" and "Children's Book of the Year" award with the book "Kanadını Bana Ver" in the "Kayıp Rıhtım" Best of the Year 2021. She has received many awards for her writings throughout her education life. She has done signings and interviews in many cities in Turkey.

Beril Koparal Ergün

Business Woman

Beril Koparal was born in Istanbul in 1971. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Biological Sciences. Between 1993 and 1997, she worked as a research assistant in the Department of Medical Biology and Genetics at Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty and continued her doctoral studies in the same field. In 1997, she resigned from the university and started consulting to the pharmaceutical industry. In 2023,she founded Veni Vita Health, where she continues as General Manager. She has been an instructor for 8 years in the "Product Management Certificate Program", first in cooperation with Bilgi University and now Koç University. She is one of the idea owners and mentors of the Women Leaders in Health Program. In addition to her scientific awards, Ms. Koparal is on the list of the 50 Most Successful Women CEOs of the Economist Magazine. She is the author of 4 poetry books, many articles and 2 themed books.

Fulya Memişoğlu Zaimoğlu

Academician

She is a faculty member at Yıldız Technical University, Department of Political Science and International Relations. In 2003, she graduated from the Department of International Relations at Bilkent University, followed by an MA in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Warwick and a PhD at the University of Nottingham. Specializing in international migration, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the European University Institute and Oxford University. She has conducted field research in various countries within the scope of national and international scientific projects on global and local migration policies, migration-development relationship, human trafficking, and her research has been published in many academic journals, books and international policy reports.

Gamze Saraçoğlu

Fashion Designer

Gamze Saraçoğlu did her Pre MBA after her business administration education and completed her education at Parson's School of Design in New York. In 2004, she founded the brand "Gamze Saraçoğlu Fashion Design Studio". Until today, she has provided design consultancy services to many brands including Cottonbar, Damat, Limango, Petrol Ofisi, Aras Kargo, İnci Deri, Mudo, Eyüboğlu Educational Institutions, Anadolu Efes and MSA. Saraçoğlu has been teaching Garment Design at Mimar Sinan University since 2009. Since 2009, Gamze Saraçoğlu has exhibited her ready-to-wear collections at fashion week and organized her first Haute Couture fashion show in 2015 in honor of her 10th anniversary. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Fashion Designers Association. Gamze Saraçoğlu undertook the costume designs of the plays "Who's Afraid of the Treacherous Wolf" , "A New Song", "Dust and Taming the Shrew" between 2013-2023.

Kübra Denizci Keskin

Rally Racing Driver

The first disabled female racing driver in Turkey and the second in the world. She was born in Bursa. In 2004, she suffered a spinal cord injury as a result of a fall from a height. She had to interrupt her education due to the process of getting used to the wheelchair and ongoing treatments. After graduating from Uludağ University's Department of International Relations, she completed her MBA at Bilgi University. Since it was difficult for her to study out of the city due to her physical disability, she graduated from the Department of Psychology at Üsküdar University after 10 years to realize her dream. She is currently doing her master's degree in Clinical Psychology at Üsküdar University. She also worked as a columnist at Acunn.com. Since 2018, Kübra Denizci Keskin has been striving to be in motorsports and received her racing license in the 2022 season. In 2023, she is competing in Turkey Climbing Championship with her specially prepared vehicle.

Sinem Özler

Sinem Özler comes from an unrelated career, but was in fact trained in her family’s kitchen where the family’s roots in Thessalonica and Erzurum came to synthesize. Upon completing her studies in Advertising at Istanbul University, Ozler began her career as a customer relations manager in an advertising agency. Following 10 years in managerial roles in advertising and food & beverage sectors, she moved on to the restaurant business and crossed paths with her now-partner Doğan Yıldırım. Although she began her career at Seraf as a manager, a series of events including the resignation of three critical personel in the first three years paired with encouragement from Yıldırım, she maden her way into the kitchen. She continues to work in a hectic mode, to bring unknown recipes of Anatolian kitchen to the future.Her career path of hers is rewarded by Michelin Guide 2023, by listing Seraf Restaurant among the 53 İstanbul restaurants recognised in the Guide’s first ever selection for İstanbul.
