In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Ann-Marie De Lange

Dr. Ann-Marie de Lange holds a degree in clinical psychology and a PhD in neuroimaging and brain plasticity from the University of Oslo. She completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Oxford, before establishing her research group 'FemiLab' at Lausanne University Hospital. Her research aims to identify factors that harm or protect the female brain, using clinical, genetic, and brain imaging data from population-based cohorts. Dr. de Lange is a passionate advocate for women's health research, and strives to connect science and society through her academic work and communication.

Nadia Fares

Nadia Fares is an award winning Egyptian Swiss director, writer and producer. She has graduated from New York University, TISCH School of the Arts where she has received her Master of Fine Arts in Film and Television. Her first feature film “Honey and Ashes” received multiple international awards and critical acclaim for its groundbreaking depiction of contemporary Arabic women. Variety called it “edgy and intelligent”. Her feature script “Diplomatic Corps” was accepted into the New York Writers Lab backed by Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman. Her latest feature “Big Little Women” has received multiple awards and is distributed internationally. She works and lives in Los Angeles, Cairo and Geneva.

Numantia Music

Numantia, a duo comprised of Laia and Fernando, explores a diverse range of cultures through their music, blending Middle Eastern, Celtic, African, Nordic, and Persian elements. Their eclectic dialogue weaves together various musical traditions, drawing inspiration from global sources such as the Tuareg, French Baroque, and Classical Indian music. Their quest for universal sounds leads them to create expansive atmospheres, narrate ancient stories, traverse epic landscapes, and evoke emotions through both familiar and unfamiliar melodies.

Rahel Ott

Rahel Ott was born in Schaffhausen in 1985. In 2010, she completed her studies in sociology, social psychology and criminology at the University of Zurich. Subsequently, she worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Criminology at the University of Zurich. From October 2016 on, Rahel Ott has been co-responsible for the Intervention Center against Domestic Violence, a professionally independent unit within the Zurich Cantonal Police. In this function, she coordinates and manages the interdisciplinary cooperation on the topics of domestic violence and stalking in the Canton of Zurich.

Rita Rahban

Rita is a senior scientist at the Department of Genetic Medicine and Development of the University of Geneva where she earned her PhD from. She has been working on the topic of male reproductive health for more than 8 years and is mainly interested in the impact of environmental and lifestyle factors on semen quality. She has conducted research on one of the largest national studies on semen quality of young men in Switzerland and also worked on the development of non-hormonal male contraception. She worked with experts in the fields of reproduction in Denmark, Germany, and more recently Scotland. Rita loves the mountains, poems, and Italy.
