Welcome to TEDxStacyRoad Youth, where we invite you to embark on a journey through the Cognitive Kaleidoscope. In a world brimming with information and ideas, it's easy to become accustomed to seeing things through a singular lens. However, what if we dared to challenge this notion? What if we embraced the idea of viewing common concepts, everyday occurrences, and pressing issues from various angles, just like turning a kaleidoscope?

The theme of our event, "Cognitive Kaleidoscope," encapsulates the essence of exploring ever-changing perspectives and patterns in our thinking. Just as a kaleidoscope reveals intricate and mesmerizing patterns through the interplay of light and mirrors, our minds have the capacity to illuminate new insights and understandings when we approach them with openness and curiosity.

Throughout the event, we will delve into a myriad of topics, ranging from technology and science to arts, culture, and societal issues. Our diverse lineup of speakers will challenge conventional wisdom, spark thought-provoking discussions, and inspire you to see the world with fresh eyes.

Whether you're a seasoned innovator, a curious thinker, or simply someone eager to expand your horizons, we invite you to be a part of this transformative event. Get ready to twist, turn, and reimagine the world around you. Welcome to TEDx StacyRoad Youth: where the Cognitive Kaleidoscope awaits.

Elisa Kim

Elisa Kim is a junior at Emerson High School who began her tutoring journey in fifth grade, discovering early on the profound impact of education on young lives. Her passion for helping others inspired her to establish Books and Bears, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational resources to children, at the age of 16. Elisa’s work is a testament to the power of small acts of kindness and their ripple effect in creating meaningful change in communities. She continues to advocate for youth empowerment and literacy through her organization.

Kayleigh Darling

Kayleigh Darling is a high school English teacher in her seventh year of education, with a passion for fostering community and connection in the classroom. After spending two years teaching in Uganda, Kayleigh witnessed firsthand the powerful sense of community that exists in many Ugandan villages, a stark contrast to the increasing isolation seen in many parts of America. Drawing on these experiences, Kayleigh now explores the dynamics of community loss in the U.S. and how lessons from Uganda can help rebuild a sense of togetherness.

Thrayi Thimmancherla

Thrayi is a junior at Emerson High School and has a deep passion for dance, actively involved in teaching at Masti Dance Academy. As an aspiring chemical engineer, Thrayi was fascinated by how intertwined chemistry was with the unique art form. Through this speech, Thrayi delves deeper into the intricacies of dance on a molecular level and how it may be useful in various medical purposes. Thrayi hopes to continue her research on this and broaden her perspective on how seemingly unrelated topics, such as dance, relate back to a basis of science.
