Theme: On the Wings of Harmony - 和合翮

Inspired by the words of a great Chinese emperor, the explorations of the first Chinese dictionary/encyclopedia 'Shuowen Jiezi', and the ancient writer and educator Han Yu. TEDxBASIS Nanjing Youth is themed around the concepts of 'Harmony', 'Unity', and 'Vigor'. In a more contemporary perspective, we say, 'in diversity there is beauty and there is strength', and 'unity is strength, division is weakness'. Embracing a global perspective, we soar On the Wings of Harmony.
我们以乾隆帝 “条达东风应，和敷万国均” 的“和”、说文解字 “三口相同是为合” 的“合”、韩昌黎先生 “入海观龙鱼，矫翮逐黄鹄”的“翮”为主旨。以更加现代化、国际化的角度来说，我们对“和”的理解与玛雅·安吉洛的名言“多样性中有美，也有力量”异曲同工；“合”则来自斯瓦希里谚语“团结就是力量，分裂则是弱点”。我们秉持全球视野，我们乘着时代的翅膀飞翔。

We gather in the vibrant university town of Xianlin in Nanjing, a city steeped in the history of the Six Dynasties, and demonstrate the power of collaboration, harness the wisdom of creative integration, and explore the frontiers of the world.

For over 40 years, he has been deeply involved in the field of molecular medicine, making significant contributions, especially in the research of diabetes and diabetic kidney disease. He is a guiding educator, a probing researcher, and an important member of multiple international academic organizations.

Juntao Xi

Clean energy entrepreneur

In 2011, he co-founded Seraphim Energy with his partner. Under his leadership, Seraphim Energy has ranked in the global top ten for several consecutive years and has invested in various forms of electric power. He is now leading the company in participating in hydrogen energy research and the new energy revolution, driving the infinite possibilities of sustainable development.

Sissi is an emerging public speaker and a thoughtful student. Growing up in the suburbs of the United States, she found herself confined to her home during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. She found solace in online communities and developed a passion for listening to and studying music on streaming platforms.

She is currently the only internationally certified senior trainer of P.E.T. (Parent Effectiveness Training) and Y.E.T. (Youth Effectiveness Training) in Jiangsu Province, China. From the moment she stepped onto the stage as a middle school teacher, she has spent nearly thirty years exploring how to be an effective educator and a good parent. Now, she is a senior youth mental health educator.
