Under the overarching theme of "Resilience," we will feature ideas on adapting to change, mitigating impacts, and co-creating solutions for our community.

Amanda Eaken

Prior to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) and UC Berkeley, Amanda M. Eaken was Director of the $100+ million Bloomberg Philanthropies’ American Cities Climate Challenge which supported 25 cities to pass policies and programs to beat the Paris Climate Agreement targets. She has been named a Top 100 Influencer by the Sacramento Bee, a 40 Under 40 Business Leader by the San Francisco Business Times, and was honored with the President’s Award for Sustainability Leadership by the Southern California Association of Governments. She also served as Director of Transportation with the Natural Resources Defense Council, leading a team working to create equitable mobility choices through infrastructure investments across America. She lives in San Francisco with her family.

Chad Baron

Co-Founder, Degrowth California
Chad Baron is co-founder of Degrowth California, an organization helping facilitate education, conversation, and action exploring post-growth futures in the state, nation, and global community. Most of his professional experience is in the education system and non-profits where he worked with diverse community stakeholders. In these spaces he often felt the desire to return to school to explore the root causes of environmental breakdown and various justice issues. He received a master’s degree in international studies from the University of San Francisco where he explored degrowth and the socio-economic teachings of faith traditions, their perspectives on the foundational drivers of injustice, and what they see as essential for sustainable and just socio-economic activity.

Jason Tsai

Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Enable Biosciences
Dr. Tsai is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Enable Biosciences. Dr. Tsai received his Ph.D in chemistry from UC Berkeley under the supervision of Nobel Laureate Prof. Carolyn Bertozzi. He received his B.S. in chemistry from National Taiwan University and was awarded with Dr. Y.T. Lee Prize, which was named after Nobel Laureate Dr. Lee. Prior to that, Dr. Tsai was the gold medalist in International Chemistry Olympiad. Dr. Tsai is passionate about positively impacting human health by leveraging his expertise in chemistry. Dr. Tsai has developed innovative solutions for early disease detection that are now being used in research and clinical programs worldwide.

Meghana Joglekar

Director, Amazon Music Subscriptions and Identity
Meghana is a tech director at Amazon Music, an experienced leader with 25+ years in the tech industry. She leads subscription and identity org responsible for managing Music subscribers’ acquisition and retention. Describing herself as an authentic, empathetic and fearless leader, Meghana finds joy in spreading her learnings about growth mindset and mindfulness. She is also keen on promoting diversity in tech and growing diverse leaders within/outside of her community. In that, she started a “Girls who don’t code yet” one day virtual workshop which has been running at Amazon Music for 5 years. To go further, she volunteered for a Design Thinking based coding summer program called SEEDS. Outside of work, Meghana is an Indian classical dancer, running her dance classes in Fremont, CA. She is an avid reader and why Libby is her most used app followed by Kindle reader. For the past 2 years, she has also taken up hiking, mindfulness meditation and yoga.

Shay Nair Sharma

Stanford University, Department of Human Biology
Shay Nair Sharma is a junior at Stanford University currently studying Human Biology with a Concentration in Space Medicine. He is fascinated with the past and future of medicine and has a passion for research, community service, and advocacy. He has pursued his passion for scientific discovery as a researcher in a Bioengineering lab and an intern for NASA. At Stanford, he is the Health and Wellness Leader for the Class of 2025. Shay writes an article series highlighting nuggets of advice from his conversations with retired Sacramento Valley physicians after lifetime careers of service. He is an advocate for children as a Camp Kesem counselor, leading a camp for children who have a parent battling cancer and as Founder of Cards 4 Kids, an organization that spreads the joy of trading cards with patients at children's hospitals across North America. In his spare time he enjoys calligraphy, cooking, Taekwondo, and exploring the outdoors.
