Theme: Realization

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Maki Kaneko

絵本作家 Picture book author

[Profile] 上智大学外国語学部ポルトガル語学科卒業後、NGO団体、コンサル会社でのキャリアを経て、絵本作家へ転身。「地味な存在」を題材に絵本制作を行い、代表作「おちゃのまのざぶとん」(2019) と「めんぼうズ」(2021)で多数の賞を受賞。 Ms. Kaneko is a graduate of Sophia University, the Faculty of Foreign Studies, Luso-Brazilian Studies Department. Through her career at an NGO and a consulting firm, she became a picture book author. Her work themes around objects that do not normally stand out in our daily lives. She has received many awards for the two of her publications.

Makoto Yamada

NPO法人せいぼ 理事長 Director of NPO Seibo

[Profile] 上智大学文学部英文学科、神学部神学科を卒業後、モバイル通信事業を行うMobell社に勤務。その傍ら、NPO法人せいぼで寄付型コーヒー販売ブランド「Warm Hearts Coffee Club」を運営。コーヒーの売上の100％をマラウイでの給食支援の寄付金に回すというチャリティ活動に従事している。 Mr. Yamada graduated from the Department of English Literature as well as Theology at Sophia University. While he works for a telecommunication company, Mobell, he also runs a charity project Warm Hearts Coffee Club in NPO Seibo. All the revenue from this coffee is used to provide meals to the schools in Malawi.

Shigeki Watanabe

[Profile] 品川区出身。上智大学法学部国際関係法学科卒業後、会社員を経て写真家として独立。「まち」「人」「食」の撮影を中心に、有名雑誌や広報誌から地域に根ざした写真展まで、幅広く活動を行う。全国通訳案内士。 Born in Shinagawa City, Mr. Watanabe graduated from the Department of International Legal Studies, Sophia University. Beginning his career as an office worker, he then became a professional photographer, shooting towns, people and foods. His work covers from images for prominent magazines and public relations to locally organized photo galleries. He also works as a National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter.
