Theme: The Kaleidoscope of Life

TEDxXIM is an independently organized TED-like event that shares the same passion and vision as TED - communicating "Ideas worth Spreading" throughout our community. Along the lines of all TEDx events, TEDxXIM will be a combination of live presenters and TED talk videos that spark deep conversations and connections at the local level. It aims to develop a consortium of high-power ideas across disciplines and technologies to inspire people to think and take action to help create a better future. XIM passionately believes in the power of ideas that can change the world, one idea at a time, and TEDxXIM aims to be a catalyst for learning and inspiration across all fields. We were granted a license by TED to lay the foundation of TEDxXIM in 2012 as a means and opportunity to reach out to more people throughout the nation and to carry forward the fire ignited by ideas.

Aaquib Wani

Founder & Art Director

Aaquib Wani, Forbes 30 under 30 for Design ’21, is a self-taught experiential designer & art director with creative expertise in spaces, festivals, sets, interiors, interactive installations, weddings, visual, and graphic design, blending the aesthetic palettes absorbed through his Kashmiri heritage and upbringing in New Delhi. Aaquib Wani Design, the experiential design studio, has worked & collaborated with a variety of brands, including the international music festival Lollapalooza, India Cricket Team, JSW for Asian Games, United Nations, Spotify, Adidas, Coca-Cola, MG Motors, Nestle, Ranveer Singh, Rajasthan Royals, Johnnie Walker, Budweiser, Glenfiddich, etc. The studio has also designed special edition shoes for Rohit Sharma for IPL 2021 and 2022 and his collection with Adidas. Aaquib Wani was also the Art Director for Isha Ambani’s sangeet at Udaipur & Akash Ambani’s wedding in Mumbai.

Anubhav Sapra is an ardent foodie and a culinary commentator on a quest to connect people with food. During his academic and professional life in Delhi, he ambled down the streets for tasty yet affordable food. Eventually, he got attracted to the street food culture and decided to dig deeper into the socio-cultural aspects. During this time, he decided to turn his passion into a profession, which gave birth to Delhi Food Walks. Today, Anubhav is not only a favorite among the street food fraternity in Delhi but also sought after by travelers visiting the city. He has changed the general perception of Delhi’s fast food scenario, especially among Western travelers. In addition, he and his content team operate blogs and social media platforms. His YouTube channel is now one of the most reliable and independent sources of information regarding any city's street foodscape.

Bharati Nrutya Mandir

Leading Odissi Dance School

Bharati Nrutya Mandir stands as a prominent institution for Odissi dance. This school was established under the guidance of the Odissi Nrutya Guru, Bharat Charan Giri. It proudly upholds the traditions of the Late Guru Debaprasad Das. The institution maintains its affiliation with Pracheen Kala Kendra Chandigarh, a partnership since 1998. Among the remarkable performances are events like the International Odissi Dance Festival by GKMC, Biswa Odissi Utsav by Samskriti, Megha Utsav by Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi, and the MSME trade fair by OASME. Guru Sri Bharat Charan Giri’s has received several honors, including a Senior Fellowship for his research on “Odissi Dance from Temple To Stage” (2011-2013) along with contributions to the field of dance through “Odissi Nrutya Prarambha” and “Odissi Nrutya Madhyama.” He holds accolades such as the OMA Award from Odisha Music and Academy in 2008, the Kalaajeeva Puraskar in 2008, and recognition from the South Orissa Sahitya Sammelan in 2004.

She has also been honored with the India Book of Records. Overcoming challenges related to her age, Nandini’s unwavering determination and family support led her to extraordinary success.

Neel Madhav

Indian Television Personality

Neel Madhav is a versatile Indian personality, actor, author, mentalist, illusionist, and TEDx speaker. He is also the representative for FashionTV International in India. Additionally, in 2016, he co-authored the book "You Got Magic," with Vinita Madhav, published by Penguin Random House. He successfully launched his show in 2014, "You Got Magic with Neel Madhav," on NDTV Good Times, that later aired on Sony BBC Earth in 2020. In 2019, he took on a recurring role as Arjun Mehra in the Amazon Original TV Series "Made in Heaven,". His expertise extends to elements of mentalism, neuro-linguistic programming and criminology. His remarkable journey spans over two decades, marked by his role as an award-winning author, co-owner of renowned bars like Sidecar and Cocktails & Dreams Speakeasy, and the founder of Cocktails & Dreams bar school (est. 2003). His accolades include Indian Bartender of the Year (1996) and being featured in Bar World’s 100 Most Influential Figures list by Drinks International Magazine (2020, 2021, 2023). He holds positions such as “Keeper of The Quaich” at Blair Castle, Scotland (2023) and Legend of the Industry by 30 Best Bars India (2022). He is also the American Whiskey Ambassador India (2017) appointed by the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS). His bar, Sidecar, is ranked No. 26 in the World’s 50 Best Bars 2022 and No. 18 in Asia’s 50 Best List 2023. A revered consultant for top hotel chains and master trainer for renowned bar programs, Yangdup is a true icon in the Indian bartending community.
