Quinn-Issla Rochester
Teacher of psychology at Champlain St-Lambert
"I have been a psychology teacher at Champlain College for close to 15 years. I came to teaching through a series of events that resulted in a non-linear academic journey which may be considered a bit unconventional. My experience has given me a distinct perspective on teaching and education. This transpires in the way I approach my students and classes. I love my students, they inspire me with their questions and their desire to learn and, at the end of the day, I only consider myself successful if we both, teacher and student have learned something new. Education to me is growth and my own growth has manifested as much through my relationships with my students as it has through the material I have been taught and have taught. More importantly, I feel that my success has always been intricately linked to the student-teacher relationships that I have developed both as a student and as a teacher."

Astrophysicist and planetary scientist
Yayaati Chachan is an astrophysicist who specializes in the study of planets. He is currently a CITA National and TSI fellow at McGill University. He studied physics at the University of Cambridge and obtained his PhD in planetary science at Caltech. Yayaati uses both observations and theory to understand how planets form in disks of dust and gas around young stars. He also studies how the atmospheric compositions and orbital properties of planets reflect their formation and evolution history. He has used the Hubble and Spitzer Space Telescopes to glimpse at planetary atmospheres and has formulated theories to explain why planets are the way they are.
