In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Gabriella Nel

Doctor
Gabriella Nel is a doctor at Joondalup Hospital from South Africa. She graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2022 after serving on the frontline during the covid pandemic in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Beyond medicine she is a professional mountaineer and has summited multiple peaks around the world with the mission of empowering women while supporting various charities and organisations along the way. In May of 2023, she officially became the youngest medical doctor globally and the youngest South African to Summit Mount Everest.

Heidi Hadley

Heidi Hadley is a Certified Clinical Somatic Educator & Somatic Movement teacher. She started her career in mainstream medicine in the field of Neurophysiology. In 2001, Heidi started her private clinical practice in health, wellbeing & movement. She is the founder & creator of Total Somatics International®. Heidi is an Executive Contributor for Brainz magazine. She is the presenter of the podcast, Somatic Movement & Mindset. Delving into the fields of neuroscience, pain, mindset, mindfulness, habits, and how to use your brain and body to create lasting healthy changes.

Isabella (she/they) is a lived experience advocate, working across youth, disability, mental ill-health, and LGBTQIA+ spaces. They are passionate about celebrating intersectional communities and being unapologetically disabled.
