At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Adele (delsi) Moleta

LGBTQIA+ Inclusion Specialist
delsi Moleta is a proud queer woman and owner of an LGBTQIA+ organisation. What started as a sneaky warehouse party in the depths of St Peters in Sydney has grown over the last 10 years to include peer support groups, workshops, queer fitness clubs, a podcast, friendship & dating nights, and even a festival. Her contribution to the Australian LGBTQIA+ community has been recognised when she made Google’s Top 50 Australian LGBTI Leaders List and was named as a Finalist for Victorian LGBTI Person of the Year, in both 2019 and 2023. Her work within queer safety and consent was spotlighted in the SBS series 'Asking For It' and they are the first Australian LGBTI person to successfully win a social defamation case in connection to LGBTI harassment.

Andrea Westbrook is a Size-Inclusion Specialist and Coach whose mission is to bring body size into the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion conversation. Bringing together over twenty years of experience in HR and a lifetime of lived experience as a plus-size woman, Andrea partners with businesses and organisations to create awareness about the impacts of weight-stigma and anti-fat bias for their employees so that they can supersize employee retention, skyrocket team engagement, propel innovation and productivity, and boost their bottom line. With academic expertise in Human Rights Law and International Relations, Donna resides in Naarm (Melbourne) with her family, leveraging her diverse background to advocate for human rights and positive change. Her journey from refugee to lawyer to fashion designer reflects a belief in the power of empathy and courage, championing the concept of 'kind rebellion' for innovative approaches to leadership and social transformation.

Dr Jason Cain

Associate Professor Jason Cain is the Research Group Head of the Developmental and Cancer Biology Laboratory, Lead of the Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult Sarcoma Program and Deputy Head of the Centre for Cancer Research at a leading medical research institute in Melbourne, Australia. A developmental and cancer biologist with more than 17 years of discovery and translational research experience, Associate Professor Cain is driving cutting-edge research to understand the mechanisms underlying the development and progression of aggressive childhood cancers to discover new therapies that will lead to improved patient outcomes.

Despite not having a menstrual cycle, Dr McKenna has spent the past 5 years talking on radio, podcasts, and in pubs around Melbourne covering everything from where the clitoris is to the evolution of menstruation. However, Dr McKenna also spent his PhD investigating the menstrual cycle of the world’s only known menstruating rodent: The Egyptian Spiny mouse. Dr McKenna passionately takes students and audiences further down the path to menstrual literacy by discussing the evolution of and hurdles to studying menstruation, and how a mouse from the deserts of Egypt is changing how we view, study, and understand female reproductive health.

A proud Jarowair, Wakka Wakka & Wulli Wulli woman, Larisha has an extensive background working in banking, health, coaching, Indigenous Affairs in government, the not-for-profit sector (where she specialised in women’s health) and in women’s community legal services (in the financial abuse prevention unit). As a Manager, Larisha aims to redress the economic injustice that Indigenous people face. Larisha is also a Coach focusing on self-concept and mindset motivation. Personally motivated by her family, her community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and women, Larisha finds great reward in hearing their stories and being a part of their learning experience. Her career highlight to date has been hosting her podcast, developed with the vision of long-term financial prosperity for all Indigenous Australian women, and intergenerational wealth transformation across Indigenous families and communities.

As a second-generation Vietnamese born in Australia, Trang has spent a lifetime navigating and integrating traditional Asian expectations in a Western society while exploring her rebellious and visionary personality. In her mid 20s, Trang experienced a quarter-life crisis that led her to leave the Physiotherapy profession so she could help people truly thrive.
