As a private institution dedicated to promoting a love for lifelong learning, Menlo School is excited to host their second-ever TEDx event! Menlo School is located in the heart of Silicon Valley where new ideas are being shared and innovative thinkers are creating unique solutions to complex problems. TEDxMenloSchool's 2023 event "Inspiring Minds, Shaping Futures" hopes to offer audience members a look into the future with speeches from those in the Menlo community and local speakers in the Silicon Valley from a variety of fields. Speakers will share personal experiences and inspire audience members to take action in their local communities. Please join us for this incredible event on September 30, 2023 in the Spieker Center.

Arjun Saluja

Arjun Saluja is a Senior at Menlo School in Atherton, California, and is the President of TEDxMenloSchool 2023. He enjoys playing tennis, watching baseball and football, and competes in Mock Trial for Menlo School.

Dave Scheinman

Dave Scheinman is a Menlo Alum, Class of 2001, is the President of SummerBio. SummerBio created an end-to-end COVID-19 test system designed from the ground up in just a few weeks to massively automate the state of the art COVID-19 RT-PCR testing process while reducing the "street price" from $150 to less than $15.

Douglas Kiang

Douglas Kiang has a Master's degree in technology, Innovation, and Education and has taught computer science at the high school level for 16 years at the Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii and at Menlo School in Atherton, California. He spent part of 2017 as a research fellow at MIT, looking at ways to mitigate the effects of unconscious bias on girls and minorities in the computer science classroom. He is a dad, food truck aficionado, friend to dogs, and reformed skydiver. In his free time, he loves reading books, playing games, and exploring all forms of digital media.

Eric Yun

Eric Yun is a senior at Menlo School. He is a member of the golf team and the Young Men's Service League. He reflects on how understanding the natural world and ancient & contemporary societies can help us create a better future. He has delivered performances on this subject at Burning Man twice.

Jackson Deutch

Jackson Deutch, a senior at Menlo School, is part of numerous communities from student council to basketball to tennis to debate. His interest in bureaucracy (his speaking topic) stemmed from research he completed in Berlin over the summer with peer Noah Babel as part of the HAND grant.

Maya Jones

Maya Jones, a senior at Menlo, enjoys spending time with her pets, especially her two cockatiels. She loves science, and her favorite subjects have been anatomy and biology. She also helps teach kids science in the summertime. In her free time, she likes baking, going on walks with her dog, and spending time with her friends.

Noah Wong

Noah Wong is a junior and fellow at Stanford University studying human centered AI. His experience working on reforming justice systems spans over a decade, and combined with his interests, has led him to create groundbreaking AI systems which increase access to justice for underserved people around the world.
