Gökhan Güneri
Gökhan Güneri, a devoted father, has become a beacon of hope in the fight against cystic fibrosis. When his son was diagnosed with this incurable rare disease, Gökhan dedicated himself to improving his son's and other children's lives. To raise awareness about cystic fibrosis, he began participating in marathons, running for hours to draw attention to the cause. Collaborating with a cystic fibrosis solidarity society, he worked tirelessly to advocate for children's right to breathe easily.
Gökhan Güneri's efforts extended beyond awareness campaigns; he actively engaged with companies to promote research for a cure and early diagnosis. Through his dedication, Gökhan emerged as a hero, offering hope and support to those affected by cystic fibrosis. His speeches, both beautiful and informative, serve as a call to action, encouraging others to join the fight against this challenging disease.
Naile Sevda Varol
Naile Sevda Varol was born in Izmir in 1984. She completed primary school at İzmir Private Primary School and secondary school and high school at İzmir Saint-Joseph French High School. Due to her passion for aviation, she left the Rene Descartes Faculty of Medicine in Paris, where she was accepted in 2002, and went to the Air Force Academy. She studied Computer Engineering and graduated with the rank of Lieutenant in 2006. After completing his mandatory service in the Air Force, she resigned and left the army in 2017. She has been working as a Boeing 737 pilot in a private airline company since 2019. She is also a former national athlete and a sky lover.
Serhan Karataş
He was born and lives in Izmir, researches the history of Izmir and organizes tours. He thinks that knowledge can be obtained not only by reading but also by experiencing. As a traveler, he visited 47 cities in Turkey and 42 countries and 168 cities in the world.
He studied at Bornova Anatolian High School '96 and Izmir Science High School. He studied Industrial Engineering at Dokuz Eylül University and Master of Business Administration at Yaşar University, and focused on the management-organization department in his higher education life. He later studied sociology and then studies cinematography.
He believes in lifelong learning and thinking with curiosity, and explores ways to share what he has learned. During his university life, he worked on many international projects in international student networks and associations between 1998 and 2004. Since 2004, he has been working as a project manager, consultant, trainer, facilitator and rapporteur in associations, organizations and festivals that produce youth work, rights-based work and cultural works, mostly in international projects. He has given training in 9 countries, his main interests as a trainer are human rights, gender, conflict resolution/communication and self-awareness development.
He also works in documentary and short film productions and plays in theaters. He has been performing contemporary dance and giving workshops since 2014. He has been on the yoga path since 2016 and has been sharing for two years. He has been running long distance since 2018 and has run 14 half marathons. He strives to establish a sports and running culture and is currently continuing his coaching course.
Yusuf Baran
He was born on December 11, 1977. He graduated from Dicle University, Faculty of Education, Department of Biology Teaching in 1998. He received his master's degree in 2002 and his doctorate degree from METU in 2006. He worked as a faculty member at Izmir Institute of Technology between 2007-2015.
In national and international meetings/congresses/forums on science, technology, diplomacy (USA, Brazil, China, Pakistan, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Israel, Germany, Chile, Sudan, Greece, Macedonia, Thailand, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sri Lanka, Netherlands , Russia, Malaysia, South Africa, etc.) gave over 200 lectures. He was invited to very important meetings and gave conferences such as the United Nations, European Parliament, World Science Forum, Baku Forum, World Economic Forum, World Life Sciences Forum, Science Diplomacy, Science Leadership.
Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran has around 40 scientific research projects supported by various institutions, more than 350 published scientific articles, papers presented at national and international congresses and one book. Dr. Baran has more than 100 awards given by national and international institutions.
