Shaped through years of debate tournaments and Model U.N conferences, Aiza Malik is a student heavily engaged in societal development and its resulting implications. Through presenting long-term research of the Artificial Intelligence debate, Malik brings attention to the human flaws in famously nonhuman technology.

Jordan Thurston

Senior Vice President at Citi

Shying away from the phrase “this is the way it’s always been done,” Jordan Thurston is no stranger to driving efficiencies in his job and everyday life through continuous process improvement. Working full-time since 10th grade, Jordan has worked across multiple industries, including retail and financial, honing his craft of improving processes and organizations globally. His passion for thinking outside the box and a weird obsession with improving things has led him to create “The Dragonfly Construct,” which compares the lifecycle of a dragonfly to an individual’s first six months in a new role and creates a new format for strategic management and process improvement. As a Senior Vice President for one of the largest financial institutions in the world, Jordan helps streamline governance operations with a proactive approach. Jordan is currently a doctoral student at the Swiss School of Business and Management.

Kyle Wenokur

Specialist and Language Arts Instructor

Mr. Wenokur is a highly dedicated and experienced English teacher who has spent the last five years teaching in Frisco ISD. His passion for teaching and working with young people stems from his time living in Africa, where he discovered his true calling. After a short stint in the business world, Mr. Wenokur traded in his cubicle for a classroom and never looked back, knowing it was the best decision of his professional life.Kyle is a family man who cherishes spending time with his loved ones, playing golf, attending church, reading books, and traveling. He believes in leading by example and instilling the values of hard work, dedication, and compassion in his students and children.

Madhukar H. Trivedi

Founding Director of CDRC at UT Southwestern

Dr. Madhukar H. Trivedi is a renowned Professor of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he holds the prestigious Betty Jo Hay Distinguished Chair in Mental Health and the Julie K. Hersh Chair for Depression Research and Clinical Care. He is an expert in developing and validating biosignatures of depression, as well as pharmacological, psychosocial, and nonpharmacological treatments for depression. Dr. Trivedi has served as a principal investigator on numerous translational research projects and clinical trials, and his longitudinal research study on depression is one of the longest-running in the field. In addition to his academic and research roles, Dr. Trivedi is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Brain Coalition and the American Psychiatric Association. With his extensive educational background and expertise, Dr. Trivedi is a highly respected authority in the field of psychiatry and depression research.

Sanjana Kavula is a junior at Emerson High School with a passion for medicine and the healthcare field. She is actively involved in HOSA and key club and has had the opportunity to witness many different healthcare scenarios. With a keen interest in public speaking and sharing her experiences with others, Sanjana is excited to share her insights on the intersection of healthcare and community service at TEDx. She believes that everyone has the ability to make a positive impact on the world, and hopes to inspire others to find their own unique ways to contribute to their communities.
