In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aryann Jhaveri

Aryann has always been passionate about art in many ways. He loves public speaking and is excited to talk about the changes artificial intelligence will make in art. His ability in public speaking has allowed him to communicate well with various people, making him a warm and friendly person Aryann has always strived for gaining information and knowledge, eager to learn more whenever he can. As he's a sophomore at Canadian Academy, he's still able to work on different interests and passions. Like the rest of the world, Aryann too is wary and interested in the effects of artificial intelligence and how it will impact the future. Aryann has always enjoyed understanding changes and different styles brought up into the artistic side of the world, whether it be in film, music, or genre art. By sharing the various effects AI can and has made on the art world, Aryann hopes to educate and inspire people on how challenging or simple yet beautiful art can be.

Conrad Miller

Conrad, a student at Canadian Academy, currently holds his passion beyond our planet. He loves its openness and the potential that lies in it. He has held an interest in space from a very young age, watching many rocket launches online, even when the launches are early in the morning. His curiosity has led him to research more about the universe and learn about how it could change the future. Through projects on space, and talking with experts, he has gained a deeper understanding about the importance of continuing space exploration.. Through this talk, he hopes to share with everyone about the importance of space. He wishes for more people to be inspired to pursue and learn more about this ever increasing important field.

Hriday Jhaveri

Hriday is a sophomore at Canadian Academy. While he was originally born in India, he has lived in Japan his whole life and so has ties with both cultures. Yet his Indian parents, religion, and language connect him heavily to his culture and so has gone through quite some trouble to truly accept himself for who he is. He has been made fun of, for his name, cultural stereotypes, and his cultural preferences. Since then, he has gained a lot more information on his nation. He has learned about India's history, the issues, and its beauty and has learned to accept his nation for who he is. A few years later, he realized that he used to have what is called a colonial mentality, and is an issue that affects millions of children around the world. As such, through his talk, he aims to inspire and impact children and help parents understand the issues of a colonial mentality, and what needs to be done to overcome it.

Kei Jodai

Kei is a sophomore at Canadian Academy, and she is eager to speak about plastic usage in Japan. She wanted to raise awareness on how small actions can lead to bigger changes. She saw that the pet bottle caps that get thrown away in the normal trash could be used in a better way, therefore will work on implementing pet bottle cap collection bins in her school as a short term solution to make the community a more environmentally friendlier place. Kei has been participating in multiple service clubs/student groups ever since elementary school, taking initiative in those activities which will allow her to advocate and make change. She feels that we all have the responsibility to make decisions that benefit the environment. Kei hopes that the solutions that she has talked about to reduce plastic waste will be implemented in the near future.

Leoni Sakamoto

Leoni struggled to cope with academic pressure, and was often lost and overwhelmed with work to do. Sometimes she would have tons of homework to do, yet would be clueless of where to start. While she was burdened with her thoughts and deadlines, an opportunity of speaking in a Ted Talk approached her. She took the opportunity to speak about her difficulties with academic pressure. Leoni is a freshman student at Canadian Academy. She likes to get to know new people, and she does this with her ability of communication. She has had many experiences talking in front of an audience throughout her many years in school, from elementary up to now. She is passionate about helping others, and with this Ted Talk, she hopes to give confidence and hope to those who are currently struggling with academic pressure.

Shoma Nishida

Shoma, a sophomore at Canadian Academy, is a Third Culture Kid (TCK) who has spent a significant part of his formative years in Spain. He is excited to speak on how Third Culture Kids can positively impact a globalized world and is motivated to speak about the complexities and challenges they face globally. Having grown up in two distinct cultures and environments, he has developed a strong interest in activities that help bridge people from different backgrounds. Since freshman year, he has been a member of Model United Nations (MUN) and has actively collaborated in group service activities such as in the Student Body Council (SBC). He hopes to shed light on how these challenges can potentially shape Third Culture Kids into becoming global citizens.

Yeongjun Seo

Yeongjun Seo, a sophomore at Canadian Academy, is dedicated to combating Asian hate crimes and fostering cultural understanding. Motivated by personal experiences and a commitment to social justice, he strives to create a more inclusive society. He seeks to challenge stereotypes and dismantle prejudice through awareness campaigns, workshops, and open dialogues. Empowered by solidarity among diverse communities, Yeongjun aims to amplify marginalized voices, advocate for policy changes, and promote empathy. With a resolute belief in unity and education, he endeavors to reshape perceptions and eradicate the scourge of Asian hate crimes.
