In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

With the help of more than 100 students, and more than 1800 supporters across Georgia, I have been able to take a hold on our electoral process and inform our neighborhoods about them through my project and non-profit, GEEO. My next goal is using that platform to reach to my Muslim community which has faced hardship and political discrimination since 9/11. As an upcoming leader in my community, it is my responsibility to make known the issues my community faces, and how I am dealing with the issue. Muslims need a voice in our community and my goal is to be one of the first voices for them.
