Alison Norton
Digital Services Librarian
Alison Norton serves as the Digital Services Librarian at Lake-Sumter State College. She graduated from Santa Fe Community College, Florida Atlantic University with a BA in English, and the University of South Florida with a master’s degree in Library and Information Science. She has worked in education in Lake and Sumter counties since 2007 as a K-12 and college librarian. She is passionate about research, information literacy, and reading. Alison has taught reading and math groups and library and information literacy skills. She has also designed and run reading programs for elementary and middle school students.
Jessica Serrano
Educator
Jessica Serrano has always enjoyed working with people and advocating for services on their behalf, whether it is serving families, students, or employees. Jessica is extremely passionate about lending her voice to the underserve/underrepresented as a case manager, human resource specialist, and most recently, as the Health Science Collegiate Academy Assistant Director at Lake-Sumter State College. She enjoys volunteering, hiking, swimming, outdoor sports, gardening, art, karaoke, dancing, book club, cooking, and unplanned road trips with her family.
Joseph Mews
Vice President of Enrollment & Student Affairs
Dr. Joseph Mews serves as Vice President of Enrollment & Student Affairs at Lake-Sumter State College, leading the areas of Academic Advising, Early College Programs, Enrollment Services, and Student Engagement & Development. He has worked in higher education administration since 2012 and in line with his professional experience, has focused his academic and research endeavors on the areas of organizational leadership, strategic planning and assessment, and change management. Mews has designed content, taught courses, presented, and published articles related to these areas in addition to his work as a practitioner.
