Theme: CONNECT THE DOTS

Taking inspiration from Steve Jobs' famous quote: “You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward", TEDxUAH Standard 2023 is established to explore different perspectives and methodologies of "connecting these dots", presented by each guest speaker. Through this program, TEDxUAH aims to assist each event attendee in finding the most fitting answers for their life.

Dzũng Yoko

Photographer

Dzũng Yoko graduated from the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City and previously held the position of Creative Director for two major magazines in Vietnam, namely ELLE and L'Officiel. For him, being the idea generator is essential, going beyond mere image processing. Consequently, his designs consistently demand impeccable layout, simplicity, and, importantly, high aesthetic value. Dzũng Yoko shared that alongside artistic and commercial projects by the Dzung Yoko team, they are set to launch their sixth fashion photography book, titled "Xuân Hạ Thu Đông," at the end of this year. This passion project, captured over three years, spans various regions in Vietnam, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Tra Vinh, Hue, Hoi An, Sa Dec, and Ninh Binh. Simultaneously, the book launch will coincide with an art exhibition in collaboration with photographer Monkey Minh.

Tân Nguyễn

Communication Designer

Tân Nguyễn is a Vietnamese designer who lives and works in two countries with different foundations, philosophies, and ideologies. His goal is to utilize art and design to connect people, starting within his community. He is a co-founder of the Vietnamese fashion community known as VSSG. Since 2014, VSSG has amassed 500 thousand members on its Facebook group, primarily consisting of Vietnamese individuals residing worldwide. Besides VSSG, Mr. Tân also initiated a clothing/art project called Soulvenir. Here, he not only creates clothing to pay homage to Vietnamese history, art, and culture but also aims to honor Vietnamese artists, artisans, and people.

Thị Ái Thủy Phạm

Landscape Architect

TS KTS Phạm Thị Ái Thủy is a lecturer at the Department of Planning at the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City, and concurrently, a co-founder of TA Landscape Architecture Vietnam design firm. She has received numerous awards nationally and internationally, including the Vietnam National Architecture Award in 2008, Young Architect Award, Re-Thinking Future Award in 2014, Women and Creativity Award in 2015, Ho Chi Minh City Architecture Award in 2017, Vietnam National Architecture Award in 2018, Ho Chi Minh City Architecture Award in 2021, and the Outstanding Award (the highest prize) at AAPME 2022 from the International Federation of Landscape Architects.

Trần Trung Hiếu Trương

Project Organizer

Trương Trần Trung Hiếu, an author, researcher, and community program organizer, currently resides and works in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. His academic interests predominantly revolve around Anthropology of Vision, Art, and Architecture. He is a co-founder of Tản Mạn Kiến Trúc (Architecture Excursions), established in 2019, aimed at cultivating grassroots knowledge about residential architecture in Central and Southern Vietnam. He co-authored the book "Tản mạn kiến trúc Nam Bộ" (2022) and frequently hosts community projects, programs, and workshops. In 2021, his second project, "Gấu thiên thể," was created to connect the public with the contemporary art community in Vietnam. In addition to these endeavors, he also writes under the pseudonym Hiếu Y, contributing discussions to publications such as Elle Decoration Vietnam, Colonial Architecture Project (Canada), and Architectural Review (UK).
