Theme: Landing from Paradox

This event occurred on
April 2, 2023

Have you ever been inspired, touched, or challenged by a TED talk? On April 2nd, 2023, our school, Wuxi Dipont School of Arts and Sciences cordially invites you to our own TEDx event, where you can witness passionate speeches, listen to original ideas, and engage in a conversation with wonderful speakers from our community and beyond.

The central theme of this year's event is “Landing from Paradox”.

Paradox is a proposition in which two opposing conclusions can be derived according to the accepted logic. Now, we can not only interpret the “paradox” by its original meaning, but also extend its meaning to everything that creates a dilemma in our lives.
A decision about a daily task, a life-changing situation, a philosophical question, an artistic representation, a scientific statement, and infinitely more... All of these can be examples of paradoxes that we could encounter.

However, the paradoxes are only our starting point: we seek to find the meaning, the balance, the way towards the solution to these paradoxes.;

Thus, our “landing”.

By landing from these paradoxes, we learn to comprehend some of the nature of our lives and make progress.
Our presenters will invite us through their journeys and experiences to explore their unique paradoxes and enlighten us with their way to “landing” instead of floating upwards in the paradox. “How do we break through the dilemmas of life to bring ideas to fruition?” “How do we achieve the unity and land in real life amidst the paradoxes of our thoughts?” These are some of the questions we will explore through our theme.
