Niki is an AS Student from Hong Kong. Having suffered the loss of a very close relative at a very young age, Niki has observed that when medicine is faced with elderly with unfixable conditions, there is a slight problem regarding how we deal with them. Oftentimes, it can be observed that medicine’s priority when faced with frailty is the prolong their mortality, yet rarely does it acknowledge that the vulnerable people themselves also have priorities that extend beyond just sustaining life. Niki is passionate about understanding the true meaning of mortality and how medicine has changed the process of ageing, which was for centuries viewed as a natural process which ultimately has transformed into a medical process of sustaining mortality.
