Researchers at the University of Wollongong and their collaborators are leading the world in medical bionics research ... and we wanted to share their story with you. We hope our attendees left with a greater understanding of the next generation of bionic devices and be inspired to become in involved. It has the potential to change the lives of many.
Our Highlights were our wonderful speakers and performers:
- Gordon Wallace who spoke about the importance of creating New Materials and building Interdisciplinary Scientific Research teams
- Mark Cook who spoke on advances in detection and treatment of epilepsy
- Katina Michael who made us think about the implications of microchipping humans with her scenarios
- Sue Young (double bionic ear recipient) who shared her personal story of being able to hear again after 38 years of silence
- Rob Shepherd who spoke on recent advances in the Bionic Eye and the protoype to be available soon
- Lotte Latukefu and David Vance performed our wonderful musical items
- Our Host Robyn Williams kept everyone on track and entertained our audience in between the presentations.
