Our event is called TEDxAIIMS New Delhi, Where x= independently organized TED event. At TEDxAIIMS New Delhi, TED Talks will combine to spark deep discussions and connections in a small group.

TEDxAIIMS New Delhi is found by a group of students and faculty mentors from AIIMS, Delhi to bring together remarkable professionals to give talks that are idea-focused and on a wide range of subjects to foster learning, inspiration and wonder- and provoke conversations that matter.

Each 18 minute (or less) long talk, performance or demonstration will have the power to open the minds of the audience, spark dialogue, and challenge attendees to transform ideas into action. We hope that TEDxAlIMS New Delhi will change the view of open-minded and curious individuals, and will inspire, connect, and shape a new world.

Dr. Neerja Bhatla

Doctor and Professor

Dr. Neerja has been tirelessly working for the last 35 years to eliminate cervical cancer. She was the first doctor from India to grace as Chairperson of FIGO Gyn Oncology Committee and led the revision of FIGO staging of cervical cancer. Dr. Bhatla is member of advisory groups on issues related to Women's Cancers and maternal health and Path Breaking researcher with • 300 publications. Dr. Neerja developed several biomedical devices to promote the training of health workers, screening & treatment of cervical cancer in remote areas.

Dr. Sumer Sethi

Entrepreneur

He is truly, an Accidental Entrepreneur. It all started in the year —- when he aced the daunting NEET exam and emerged as a top ranker. This exam is an acid test for medical aspirants and every year it breaks hearts of countless doctors who are unable to make the grade. —- years later he again appeared for the NEET PG examination. This is considered an incredibly tough exam. Almost effortlessly he aced it again and became a top ranker in this exam as well. His success in two daunting examinations made him sit up and think. When he looked closely at his performance he realised that he had stumbled upon an incredibly effective way of preparing for this examination. In 2021, out of nowhere, came Covid. In the face of a complete shutdown and no way of conducting coaching classes face to face, he was forced to strategise rapidly. They say that when the going gets tough, the tough get going. As one of his students put it- he is the Amitabh Bachchan of medical training in India.

Dr. Yogesh Jain

Public Health Physician

A pediatrician by training from AIIMS Delhi, Dr. Jain is involved in primary health care through founding and running JSS and Sangwari in rural central India.

Mr. Salman Khurshid

Senior Lawyer

Mr. Salman Khurshid is an Indian politician, designated senior advocate, eminent author and a law teacher. He was the Cabinet Minister of the Ministry of External Affairs. Mr. Khurshid has been deeply involved in writing and acting in plays since his student days in Delhi and Oxford. Mr. Khurshid is the author of the play Sons of Babur, published by Rupa & Co., which has been staged, with Tom Alter in the lead role, at the Red Fort in Delhi. Mr. Khurshid and his wife Louise run the Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust for physically challenged people. The trust was founded on 30 October 1986 and commemorates the third President of India, Sh. Zakir Hussain, who is his maternal grandfather.
