Carpe Diem, a Latin term, meaning "Seize the Day" - Encourages individuals to keep their attention in the present, recognize the importance of each moment, and refrain from needlessly delaying things because everything has an end. It is a way of thinking that entails paying attention to and embracing one's current feelings, thoughts, and experiences in a non-judgmental manner. A carpe diem attitude does not involve ignoring the past or the effects of actions on the present or future. Instead, it's about living in the moment and not allowing the past or future to consume the thoughts.
This year TEDxInstituteofSpaceTechnology has aimed to implement carpe diem and successfully seize the day to live life to the fullest and embrace new ideas, thoughts, creativity, goals, and revolution. Focus on living in the present and make the most of it, while remembering that life is finite and will come to an end soon, so do not put off any acts want to accomplish unless there is a strong reason to do so.

So, let us seize the day.

Dr. Syed Wilayat Husain

Professor in Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Institute Of Space Technology

A renowned speaker for his expert talks in the Materials Engineering field as well as an expert/trainer educationalist owing to his skill in Outcome Based Educations system Dr Syed Wilayat Husain did his BS in Metallurgical Engineering from Dawood College, Karachi. He got his MS and PhD in Metallurgy from the University of Connecticut, USA. He has more than 30 years of experience in Alloy Development, Materials Characterization and Failure Analysis. He has 50 plus international publications to his credit and has remained associated with projects of national importance. Presently he is a Professor in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering at IST. He is currently also employed as Advisor in NCFA. He served as an acting VC of IST and was awarded Sitara e Imtiaz by the Govt of Pakistan for his excellence in the Strategic domain of Research and development for Pakistan.
