In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

A 18 year old from Malaysia advocating for the rights of LGBT community in my country and community. I write and my foremost inspiration comes from listening to experiences that aren't mine to learn from them as I believe all of our perspectives are equally as important. While learning about the LGBT community in my school, I came to realise the importance of awareness of advocacy. There is a sense of responsibility to keep challenging societal norms so that we are able to live in peace. Aside from this, I aspire to learn, divulging in different areas of interests such as sustainable farming, anthropology of modern culture, film and music.

Alyx Chuah

Alyx is one of a kind of student at UWC Thailand who loves to talk with people and share her knowledge about animal sex facts. She has a great fondness for arts and humanities while she enjoys reading about biology. She is a strong advocate for adequate sex education and she aims to break the taboo created around the topic of sex and encourage people to have open conversations about it.

Htet Wun Yan is a passionate teenager who loves adventures, climbing and thrillers in life. She is also a competitive swimmer and loves pop and indie music. Academically, she loves math, literature and epidemiology. She wanted to become a TEDx speaker inorder to use this platform to educate people about the cruel horror and atrocities faced by animals throughout the world.

Sabin Limbu is one of the Tedx speakers from the class of 2023 at UWC Thailand. He enjoys immersing himself in the aroma of nature through the flips of books over a cup of tea. He relishes swinging his hips to the chirps of birds singing over picturesque valleys with trickling rivers. He opted to participate in TedX because he wanted to use this opportunity to express himself and make people a part of change. He is a passionate individual who loves to enjoy his time talking with people, listening to music and spending time in nature.
