Change is fun, it is life, it is progress, and it may sometimes be thrilling and controversial, but change is the prerogative for innovation, which is so much wanted nowadays.

Kristaps Paļskis holds a master’s degree in medical physics with work experience in a clinical environment – radiation therapy for cancer treatment. He is currently a PhD student in accelerator technologies, working at the European Organization for Nuclear Research, CERN, to develop next-generation radiation therapy technologies for more effective patient treatment.

His medical start-up LifeSync IVS was recognized as one of the most innovative start-ups in Denmark in 2014 by VIA University criteria. Ņikita participated in creating and managing the Jelgava Business Incubator and the Technology Business Center in Riga. Currently, he is the Director of the Innovation and Technology Department of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, where he manages governmental support programs for developing start-ups and the commercialization of science.

Ralfs Gaubšteins is a 32-year-old young professional with higher education in Marketing and Journalism. He graduated from RISEBA University several years ago, studied and lived for a year in Cyprus as part of the ERASMUS exchange program, and lived in Milan, Italy, for almost four years after that. His main occupation is in the real estate and investment industry, and as a hobby, he also works in the financial sphere (shares, cryptocurrencies, etc.). Ralfs has been dealing with real estate transactions for ten years, and for the last 2 years, Ralfs has been managing investments in the Baltic Investment Group Company.

TĀLIS JUHNA

Professor and Vice-Rector for Research at Riga Technical University

Tālis Juhna is a professor and Vice-Rector for Research at Riga Technical University. His research and teaching are in water systems and environmental biotechnology. During the last decade, he was developing a system for engaging engineering students to obtain the skills for creating new technologies and becoming leaders in problem-solving. He has experience working for the United Nation in technology facilitation as well as in the creation of high-tech start-ups from universities.
